Analysis............its a piece of crap. got the car all running and idling great after being down a while and i notice alot of smoke coming out the exhaust....... go over to the turbo and tons and tons of smoke coming from it. pulled it all off and turns out that it was spraying oil into the downpipe. so from my personal experience their turbos are crap. im using their manifold with extra bracing, but i am using an HKS wastegate. just wanted to say that some people have good luck with that companies turbos, but from my experience they are crappy. time to order and wait for my new turbo to get here

I have ran one for 8 months now, made 441rwhp on it, not a problem(knock on wood) Did you prime it properly because if you did not you can dry scare the journal bearings(bushings) and cause leaking.

it was the one they included in their oil line kit, a flange with a screw in adaptor for a hose that goes down to the stock drain, i was thinkin that this may not have been enough and it might have been backing up in there, ill check on it tomorrow and see what happens

IJ u think i should just swith over to a steel braided line on it?

first off id like to apologize for the ranting i did, had a bad day but then the turbo thing just kinda pushed me a lil too far so i ranted about it, its actually a pretty good turbo, and i probably did something that screwed it up. so im just gonna get the turbo rebuilt this week. and try it again

Also - what is the proper way to prime the turbo? just wanting to see if i did it right

I come from a land down under
BZ: It's really important that the Turbo drain is large and unobstructed

as an example if you have too much oil in the motor with a low drain it will block it flood the turbo and it'll smoke like a bitch!

"Also - what is the proper way to prime the turbo? just wanting to see if i did it right"

What I do is this:

1. Remove top oil fitting flange leading into the top of the turbo.
2. While the drain is properly connected back to the pan/block, slowly pour 10-20ml of clean oil into the cartridge while turning the compressor wheel 360 degrees.
3. Replace oil feed flange and proper 'an' hose to it.
4. Remove the EFI fuse
5. Crank motor for approximately 15-30 seconds intermittently .

Now the turbo is probably ready for the first start.

I never heard of pouring oil into it.I just heard of cranking with the EFI fuse out to get oil flowing thru it. But that is extra precaution I guess.

Brand new turbo, why not... it's right there.

I'm sure it's not necessary.. but it's what I do. :dunno:
