Resistor wiring..Something seems fishy?

Alright so after trying to make sense of the infamous http://supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=170792&highlight=resistor+wiring
thread, I went ahead and gave it a try. Well, after i got everything wired up the portion of the setup where the black injector wires from the ecu are wired to the white wire on the resistor (note, this is hardwired without the 7m resistor pigtail) seemed off. Prior to cutting and soldering there were 6 black wires that evetually formed 5 black wires near where the MAP sensor plugs in. The fifth wire was spliced together with grounds from 2 other sensors. See photo for better understanding. Everything appears fine except that 5th wire?!? Anyone have some insight?

This is the wiring diagram i used:

And this is the finished product: Note there are only 5 injector grounds rather than 6???I cant remember for the life of me where 2 of the grounds became one wire.

I guess to simplify what i'm asking, what should the part where all the grounds converse into the white wire look like? I've heard people say there should only be four black wires connected and the diagrams point towards 6 wires being connecting. Speaking from experience would be preferred. I will pull the harness apart tomorrow and double check but in the mean time if anyone wants to throw their 2 cents in.

I recommend hooking up the resistor this way......see picture....will explain below.

The reason to combine all the Black, Red, Yellow is, if something were to go wrong with any of the risisters/connections inside the pack you'll still have power to any of the injectors(2) that are firing.

Black Orange wire: Find where all the wires became one and just hook 1 wire from there to the resistor, there are already too many un-neccessary(spell) wires hanging around.

lol. Ya, i ran out of big heat shrink tubes. threw it together quickly to get an "all wired up" pic. I'll give that other wiring layout a try.

I've already got the harness stripped back to the firewall and the grounds still havent conversed into one wire.

Do the grounds have to switch paths through the ecu or can i just extend the black/orange wire and bolt it to the frame? This is my interpretation on what is suggested in the bottom right corner of the wiring diagram.

DO NOT GROUND TO THE FRAME!

See diagram here : http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=D&P=3

The B-O goes into the IGN switch, (maybe I should have fix my picture a little bit more).

i dont remember electrical resistance stuff that much and dont have time to look it up tomorrow, but that will throw out the resistances and ohms a lot iirc..

Got tired of lookin at the maze of wires so i pulled the whole harness out. Found where all the grounds became one about 4 inches from one of the ecu plugs. The fifth wire was a combination of sensor grounds and one injector. So, i tied that back into the new, single wire ground. A little solder, heat shrink and convoluted loom later and everythings buttoned up.:biggrinki:
