Ok, so I had a previous thread going about doing a timing belt change in all. I have everything removed except for the crankshaft pulley so that I can remove the lower timing cover and get to the timing belt. Probleam I am running into is that I am unable to remove the 19mm bolt on the crankshaft pulley to get it off, this has now got to the point that I called a mobile mechanic and had him try everything in his power to remove that bolt, with no success. Tried kicking the bolt over with the starter with still no luck, my previous buddy who owned the supra has like an 80 gallon compressor in his garage so im sure he used an impact screwdriver on that bolt. I'm to the point now I'm tempted to get it towed down to the nearest shop and have them finish the timing belt job even though I really don't want to. So I pose this offer if anyone in the Chandler, AZ area thinks they can get that bolt off I will more than well compensate them financially for it, other than that if anyone has some extended suggestions it would very much be appreciated.

I just did my timing belt. What I did was soaked it up with PB blaster to help loosen it up then did the starter trick. It's more fun when you have to torque it back to stock spec 195 lbs.

and you did the starter trick where you leave the wrench on the bolt and crank the start up a little at a time? If that does not work than you need impact tool but you need to remove radiator to have room.

yeah, figured this was gonna be a pain in the ass, but damn this is ridiculous, I got the radiator, fan, and fan shroud allready removed. Any recomendation on the size of air compressor I'm going to need to remove this bastard of a bolt?

That's pretty amazing that the starter couldn't break it loose (is your battery healthy?). As far as air tools go, the compressor size isn't the most relevant consideration for your current task. You should be looking for a powerful air tool and the line pressure to back it up. Good luck.

dont get discouraged. everyone has problems pulling the crank pully. thereore there are alot of old threads about this. try searching. here are two to get you started:

http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16462&highlight=crank+pully

http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6794

if you have a bud with an impact gun than you should be golden. that would be the easyest way to do it. just when you go to put it back on make shure that it is torqued to spec (195ft/lbs). that first link will show you why thats important and has ideas for getting it off later in the thread.

You can put the car in like 5th gear and get a huge bar and knock it loose?

Have someone stop the rear wheels turning by using the foot brake? A very long bar should do it.
