Well..I finally got around to taking my old motor out and my new (JDM) motor came in from www.tigerjapanese.com. It seems to be in pretty good shape other than a few scratches and a couple of fan blades are broken off. The turbo has minimal shaft play so im praying that it doesnt smoke.Checked the oil and theres no milkshake.
I just ordered a timingbelt/tensioner and a full engine gasket kit. I will be taking the tranny off to inspect the

Gotta swap out the round mounts for my square mounts. And then figure out what else is different about it.
Oh and the Thermostat housing only has a place for 2 sensors on it.The place for the sensor that the vac. line from the charcoal canister goes to is not on this motor.

use it off the old motor...

this is why having spare parts is fun, means if somsething breaks or you just feel like polishing it, you can still drive it and then swap em...

I think im just not gonna run the charcoal can. Should i just leave the line that ran to it vented?
Also the waterpipe under the back of the head is blocked off on the end on the JDM motor while the USDM has a hose that runs off it to somewhere..But i cant seem to figure out where in the bay.. The hose in the back of the head off the banjo bolt runs to the firewall correct?

Very Nice, Good luck with the swap. BTW what procedure did you use to clean the engine bay? Pressure washer, or did you just go with some degreaser on that also?

there is no reason to get rid of the charcoil canister, leave it and get it hooked up properly...

the water outlets on that pipe you can just swap the sides on (unplug the one that's plugged and plug the one that's not plugged so it's like your old engine, get a new plug!)

I just used a lot of degreaser. My dad got a hold of some industrial degreaser and i mixed that and simple green together in a bucket. Just had an old paint brush and a few stiff bristle brushes and a water hose. I was going to get the pressure washer out on it but it came clean enough and i dont want to harm any electrical stuffs.

Well i don't have an EGR anymore so i was just thinking i might as well dump the canister too so i can free up some clutter in the bay.(you know..anti environmental lol) I figured out the water pipe thing, i might swap the one on from my old motor to the JDM one or i might spend a little time finding a hose that fits correctly on the JDM motor to my firewall.

*Update*
Engine in and running GOOD!!woot. I finally got to feel some mad Supra Boost Powa last night! So far im very happy and it had made it all worth it. Doesnt smoke or burn oil at all..Boosts good..but only to 6psi or so according to stock guage. Not sure how accurate my oil pressure guage is.When its not on its stuck inbetween 0 and 40 so like 20..and it says im running 40psi at idle all the time and when crusing at around 3000-3500 it'll go to 60 and a little above.
So... my next mod will be a 2 din pillar with Prosport electronic boost and oil pressure guages. Oh yea and i gotta put the gas pedal back on which i guess pretty much fell off with the original owner. :3d_frown:
I'll have to srounge up some pics tonight.

Edit: Oh and looks like i need to do this http://www.supras.com/06/techcenter/display.php?QID=47 so my gas guage will work right.
