Some of you might remember my original thread asking if it was worth the money.- http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52168

I ended up talking the guy down to $2000 Plus $150 for the extra wheels.
I paid the guy his money, filled the radiator up with water and proceeded to haul ass to my house in the most direct route possible so it wouldnt overheat. I made it just as the temp was getting to the halfway mark and coasted into my driveway. Anyways..on with some pics

At her new home

The interior is in very good shape..The seats arent torn/worn/faded at all. The floor mats have seen better days but not that bad. Oh and the little cargo cover needs some paint and the dirvers side door panel has some cracks.

good luck on the engine replacement.
just take your time on doing it right so we don't see any posts stating "replaced motor and now car won't move" type of threads....lol j/k

If your not going to use that silencer let me know I might buy it from you. Cops are real picky about noise levels where i live and my Nur spec isn't the quietest exhaust!

Just came in to take a break from the supra..My god this engine is dirty as FUCCCKKKK. I dont think ive ever worked on a dirtier engine bay..everything is caked in oil/dirt/shit/bugs..etc...

dumb question, but if it just needs a hg replacement, why are you swapping the motor?

Well the guy i bought it from got a BHG on the way back to Macon Ga from Atlanta..So turns out he drove it with a BHG for 30+ miles, having to pull over every few exits to let it cool down/add water. Suprisingly, the MFer doesnt have rodknock (YET). The current motor/tranny has 179,xxx miles on it.I checked the turbo and it has terrible up/down shaft play it in.
I figure it'll be cheaper to just get a low mileage JDM motor/tranny(1700 shipped to my FRONT DOOR) than it would be to rebuild this motor(1500+) and turbo(5~600).And he said it was a little hard to downshift so i figured a low mileage tranny would be good insurance.

It should be a good project car, but I personally think you overpaid for the car based on what you told us and looking at the condition of the car. It might just be the area you are from, but we have pretty nice cars in our region with no issues that sell for that price or maybe upwards of a grand more. Good luck and keep us posted.

Good job on the car but I think you overpaid too cuz I got my car for 1800 and all it really needs is a paintjob. Absolutely no rust or dings. Pics can be found on this website.

Def. gonna be a project car for you but atleast you got one.

I don't live too far from you and I found out that there are no supras here either. I bought mine from Utah and I bought my wifes from Wisconsin. Good luck with the JDM motor. Keep your other one and if you get the money, I'd go ahead and start a rebuild.

I think all the Supras are up north and on the west coast.
Oh and the paint on the body is in very good shape..The bumpers are really they only thing that need repainting. I could probably Polish and wax the body and itd look almost as good as new.

Yea..I might just go ahead and get a whole gasket set and replace everything. Not really sure yet tho.

replace that headgasket and inspect the engine!

JDM /= perfect engine

JDM engines should be taken as needing a rebuild, they have lower milage (usually), but that's not saying they where some VERY hard miles.

Take your old engine and rebuild it right and swap em back out when you're done. If you don't have rod knock, they you probably have a good core for freshening for a good build...
