Yeah, if you have to sign anything make SURE you know what you're signing. Don't agree to the amount until you're happy you can fix/replace it comfortably.

Insurance is coming on friday to check out the car. i got a huge stack of service records ready to show them. i honestly dont want them to fix it. i would rather take a check and buy a new no accident shell or do the work myself as i have access to a body shop. if they do fix it i dont think i could ever look at it the same. is there anything i should or shouldn't say or do? i hope they dont try to fuck me over and low ball me or whatever. should they know about my parts that i have? also something in my driveline is messed up and it clunks, will they say that was already there? i have a record of it just having the rear diff being replaced and a used driveshaft put in.,

bleeeeeehhh:: facepalm ::

They won't give you anything for "maintainence" because they feel that has to be done to keep the value of the car. You have to have receipts for stuff that was bought like within 6 months to make a difference.

Like I said, make everything shiny, even my engine bay got factored into the calculation (that was a good thing :)). You're selling a product, and you want to make it look like it's price, but you don't want to lie because if you're caught then the buyer will refuse to deal with you (and tell others). Don't fix anything.

Don't know what to say about mentioning "parts" (aftermarket stuff, right?). Yes, they will try to screw you over.

im going to finish the claim and if its unacceptable im calling a lawyer.

i looked under the car and notice a crack in the passenger rear wheel well. its about 10 to 11 inches long and 1/8 gap so that explains the buckle in the fender.

*edit tell them about most of the big after market stuff.. like what i did they offered me 2100 and i was like but i have a aftermarket body kit and rims and rollbar and i told them the name of every part and where to get it. and it bumped it to 3500 with me getting my car back.

after weeks of calling i got a return call. i had sent about 8 pictures of the car that they had requested all showing NO damage. Progressive is admitting all fault, but refuse to pay for my insurance, time off of work, or any work whatsoever to the car. They are sticking to there story that it was all previous damage from a side hit. I guess they know my car better than me. why would i report a 5 inch scratch on my car but not a side impact that has no sign of contact from any ofther object at all?

So now i have a busted car, a bill, and all these parts.
