I had Goodyears that would just break loose when I got anywhere into boost in the rain. I wouldn't even feel the tires spinning I'd just be steering with the rear of the car all of a sudden. Put BFG's on the back and those thing's put up a fight before breaking loose, I could get on it much harder and it would start to hop before it would let me lose traction.

Your case is more with front wheels rather than drive wheels though it seems?
Same case should apply though, get better tires!

Yeah hydroplaning is fun for only one second. No more, no less. I hydroed on the 210 freeway in SoCal at about 4 in the morning a year ago (when we got rain in LA), around all sorts of big rigs. My michelins were balding though.

Don't joke. Almost went off into neverland w/michilin pilots in the supra. Rains pretty hard in MS.

I went into the ditch w/Titan not even going to fast, back end came loose and gave it just little throttle next thing were doing circles and then into the tree's we went.

Make sure you have good tires and slow it down in the rain.

I'm running Nexen tires. Boost in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear just makes my car hop like crazy in the rain, if it doesn't actually just break free.

I managed to total a pontiac sunfire, hydroplaned for a good 5 seconds and when the front wheels grabbed it span the car right around and off the side of the road.

Scary stuff.

I liked the Nexen S2000(?) tires. They only lasted a year(around 20,000 mi. guesstimated), but had pretty good traction, even in the rain. They don't like long, smoky burn outs much, though. Get a little slick when they get heated up like that.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention: Along with good tires, proper alignment will do wonders. Replace any wore out steering parts as well.

Did an awesome drive in a crazy storm on Sat night/early morning with the Supra Club... My stock Soarer wheels with semi-crap tyres did better than all the MkIVs i was cruising with with brand new rubber...

This was through the twisties though... Once we got on the freeway, we were all sliding around at only 40kmph...

Can't wait to get my new tyres on and try the drive again :D

(Btw - this was one fked up storm... Got about 20cm of rain in an hour + crazy fog - couldn't see shit)

First time ever. Driving my dad's el camino, curve ahead sign says 45 I'm going like 50 me and friend in car.

Turn wheel ......nothing,
turn more....nothing,
brakes......nothing,

Light pole headed our way.
It was like slow motion car took out light pole and in slow motion pole fell across the front hood of car.
