Well I had my motor out this time, I decided to clean my engine bay.. I went and got some Purple power and some nylon scrub brushes and went to work, About 2 hours later and with the pressure washer it looks like this! It works really good :)

really? lol so my engine bay is going to fall apart? I pressure washed it all immediately after

Parts tend to look good for a bit then rapidly age :(

I've used it to strip paint before, seems the only thing it doesn't hurt is some plastics.

What the best product to use? Simple green or something like smart and final degreaser? Im going to be doing this next week but with a steam pressure washer

full strength that stuff will do some real damage for sure...purple power and simple green both need to be diluted if your going to use them and then washed directly after....i think it actually says that on the bottle....ive been using very VERY diluted versions of both as bug remover for years with no issue....but since you used a power wash right away you will hopefully be ok....i would have probly just gone with soap water and elbow grease....

mecevans...lemme know how that steam wash goes...ive alway been curious about that and some people say its great and some say its not safe...i would love to know how it works....are you doing it with the motor out or in?

I used diluted Simple Green years ago on my old black Supra with fantastic results. Rinsed with a hose afterward.

really? i heard a lot of people say it gets all up in your plugs and will run pretty bad for a couple days...have you ever had this happen? do you take certain precautions? i would love to do it...and i have a military base right down the road how do you access the washer?

steamed pressure washer. we have one in our local military base and damn does it work wonders in 5 minutes

Like at the auto skills center? I am planning on taking it back to the lifts shortly to fix an oil leak, so it would be nice to clean 'er up so I can see where the next leak is!

Just stay away from the spark plugs, airfilter/afm, and alt. You can use towels to cover up things. The steam works great tho most places just have the pressure wash.

Used pp on a buddys car and it do nothing but ruin paint without taking off dirt. WD40 and pressure wash after made it look brand new tho.
