Hi supra fan’s.

I want to share with all of you my new project for my MKIII ’91 auto supra.

Because the lack of near by Performance Shop and reliable technicians, I begin my performance shop PTR, I’m only work in week ends so it’s Slowly but surely.

Let’s begin

My supra MKIII Auto 7MGTE
Stock Engine
Stock Turbo
550 RC injectors
Walbro fuel pump
Lex AFM
S AFC II
NOS and Water injection.

p1828556_1.jpg

p1828556_2.jpg

Because the supra has the auto trany broken, its long time wight out runing

p1828556_3.jpg

After moved it to the performance shop (move to the back yard) I did wash it

p1828556_4.jpg

p1828556_5.jpg

p1828556_6.jpg

Some mod so far!

To reduce the time in the 1/8 Track, time to change the rear Dif from 3.9 to 4.3 :) of course LSD

p1828556_7.jpg

p1828556_8.jpg

Time to clean the 4.3 dif

p1828556_9.jpg

Some diferent :icon_razz

p1828556_10.jpg

Upgrade torque converter to 2800 rpm’s

My best time at the 1/8 track was 9.00 Sec, with all stcok and avarage tuning and 18" wheel :3d_frown:, so time to change the torque converter, to leave with some boost :biglaugh:

p1828556_11.jpg

p1828556_12.jpg

Remove the old exhaust system, because I’ll install a 3.5” exhaust in the future (comming soon!)

I don't like the existing 3" exhaust system, because its poor quality and design, so I'll build a 3.5" exhaust system

p1828556_13.jpg

Se the ugly curves! of the piping

p1828556_14.jpg

With out coments :3d_frown:

p1828556_15.jpg

Also I’ll change the stock CT26 turbo for a Garret 35 R.

Because the limitation of the CT26, its time for a more efficient turbo to run at 20PSI of boost :icon_bigg

p1828556_16.jpg

Also I will change the stock TB for a Q45 TB :icon_evil

p1828556_17.jpg

p1828556_18.jpg

Now the interesting part of the treat :naughty: Installing a 7M FFIM

In the past, I pay to build a FFIM, so its time to do it my self, but of couse will be better :evil2:

The diferent from the old set up:

The new set up , dont need an alternator bracket :naughty: or remove the AC

let begin!

p1828556_19.jpg

Remove Intercooler piping of 2.5"

p1828556_20.jpg

Remove the out let piping of the turbo, and the down pipe

p1828556_21.jpg

Let;s begin the building :icon_bigg

Some parts of the procces:

p1828556_22.jpg

Remove Upper plenum

p1828556_23.jpg

Taking some measures

p1828556_24.jpg

p1828556_25.jpg

Cuting procces!

p1828556_26.jpg

p1828556_27.jpg

Because the Q45 TB falge for me is expensive ( $35 + tax + shipping) I think its better if I builded :naughty: the Q45 TB flange

p1828556_28.jpg

p1828556_29.jpg

Upper manifold

p1828556_30.jpg

After clened!

p1828556_31.jpg

So far so good!

p1828556_32.jpg

p1828556_33.jpg

Lets see the clearance with the alternator

By the way, I’m also working in the rebuild of a Friend 7M engine, so lest try the FFIM in his engine :evil2:

p1828556_34.jpg

p1828556_35.jpg

Have good clereance and a good room for the alternator belt ajustment, and the more important, with out aditional bracket :naughty:

p1828556_36.jpg

p1828556_37.jpg

p1828556_38.jpg

Its all until today :evil2:

Looking good. Im just about to have my FFIM welded up.
I cut it way lower to fit a 4" tube, yours looks a bit smaller?
But you didnt have the hassle to fit a new bottom to the runner and that saves a whole lot both time and a lot of grinding.
Is the q45 boost "proof"? I have a 75mm TB from ebay, think I can remember sethron saying that they leak a bunch around the axle =(
The thing I have yet to figure out is how to connect the trans line-pressure cable to the TB, any ideas? TB to pedal cable a camry V6?

I can attest to this. Mine started leaking past the throttle plate and shaft seals so much to raise my warm idle to 1400 rpm. Sprayed the inside down with some dry moly lube and it helped quite a bit.

in the my last set up, I use a some kind of special glue, dont remeber the brand but works well :p, after I finist the FFIM, I'll perform a leak test to be 100% :D befreo installing it.

that was my first supra :D with the old set up, in that one I use a alternator bracket.

Actualy its a lot of job, but I think the its better from my point of view :p.

1.no need aditional bracket
2. no need to modify the fuel line to the cold injector
3. no need to perform a good inlet to the runners
p1828644_1.jpg

4. have more spce from the manifold to the fuel rail

yep the pipe its 3.5" :)

because the 3" it was to small to fit in the upper runner and the 4" was to big :S

So dont have many options :S .

For the trans line-pressure cable to the TB, I put in a wot position, Don't remember well, but suppose that don’t affect the trany because its a mechanical valve, and also because i perform a shimm mode in the valve body and suppose its better have all the oil pressure for a fast respond.

Later I upload a pic :)

thats why i dont perform the FFIM before :D

Bla thats no good. Ill pressure test my tb before welding the flange on then.

I removed my CSI after reading a few threads here.

I allready have a alt lowering bracket and wanted to make sure nothing hits the hood.

Locking the cable at full pressure isnt something I want. No more comfy shifts at low throttle :nono:

I have also shimmed my accumulators and high stall TQ.

3.5" inst bad at all and I think you are the first one Ive seen to reuse the lower plenum part :bigthumb:

So, have you welded any of it yet, or is it still assembled with masking tape?
Would love to see a pic.

Not yet :(, I’m waiting a disc sander equipment to perform the last reface to all the parts before the welding :D

So I need to wait until the end of the month :(

So be patient :p
