Well as I was working on the Supra my buddy (ex-1jz mkiii owner) showed up in his daily driver Civic. We talked about the Supra for a while and other stuff and I asked him about the Civic. He told me to get in. Keep in mind the road is slightly wet from previous rain. Okay, well taking the first corner out of my neighborhood is a blast. 1st is useless, spinning the speedo to about 40, then here comes second... Once again, spinning until he lets off and catches traction in 3rd. Damn I was planted until, it boosted and started spinning.
Now we are pretty much cruising what road we have left until we hit a major road (55mph limit). We take that right, and he makes a dead stop, gives the engine hell, and spins 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and finally traction in 4th. At this point, I don't know what to grab onto.
Finally we get home. Man what a ride. I look at Civics much more differently than I did before, and for a turbo, head gasket and a Greddy E-manage tuned, is A LOT more than I expected it to be.
Conclusion is, I guess any car can be fast if tuned well, it's defiantly a fun car. Not a drag car, or a track car by any means, but I would love to have it for a daily
Thought I would share,
Matt
