Also a member here on Supramania.com aka 'Piratetip' named Nick Tipit , and friend of mine in the United States will built my new mk3 differential.
It will be a used US spec diff core with new oem Toyota parts . The LSD will be upgraded with the Weir Stage 1 performance kit,
and the oem ring and pinion will be replaced with a Nitro-gear oem take-out 3.5 ring+pinion with 29 splines rear yoke and it's bigger outer flange.
Here are some pictures from the parts that my friend already has...

Very detailed build thread on installing the V160 and thanks for sharing. Curious to see how the gear ratio works with the trans and performs on the road.

Yeah hopefully this final drive ratio matches well enough with his V160.
This gear ratio is the tallest option currently available besides finding an ultra rare group A 3.2 TRD.
Or having a R&P custom made by someone.

Only other option is custom mounting the MKIV diff into the MKIII subframe.

As a community we needed a 'how to' for this swap done the proper way.
Anyway, car is in the garage now, waiting for some parts. Also ordered from Toyota dealer the two rear seals of the V160 cause it seems there is a small leak at the rear of the transmission. Should have replaced these when the trans was out. Lesson learned !

When I will get the car ready I will post the ride feelings and some videos...

Exactly...well said. But I got a feeling that using the 3.5 rear diff ratio, having a higher rev limit 8000-8500 rpms easily done with a built JZ motor, and running big tire / wheels combination like 285-40/18"....it will be like running oem mk4 drivetrain gearing ;-)
Did the math and I will post the calculation soon.

Yeah I was going to say you could probably get closer by changing the tire size some.

I finished rebuilding the 3.58 today.
Your diff is complete and packaged up.
Now to figure out shipping to Greece...20170225_101609.jpg20170225_101623.jpg20170225_121420.jpg20170225_121553.jpg

Some good action shots.
I was able to set up an excellent contact pattern on the R&P (competition pattern)

Since you guys are working on the V160 do you happen to have the old crossmember for the R154?

Yes I still have the oem stock R154 crossmember. But it stays with the R transmission as well as all the other parts from my Supra.
Nothing that was worked, customized, altered was the original part from the car. All parts were purchased individually for the V160 swap.
Didn't want to mess with oem parts...I want to have a ready in no time R154 back on..just in case.

Shipping from Greece isn't the best place to pick one up....
Contact Tubbie, he might have one.

Sounds good. Always nice to have a back up just in case. I'm keeping a few spare parts for mine too.

True... And try to get in my shoes, I am located in Europe , Greece. All of my performance parts came from U.S. , Japan, and few from U.K.
You can get an R154 crossmember from a member here..

Wow.. had no idea you guys were from Europe, Greece. Yea parts would be hard to find. I have to say great job putting your Supra together with taking time to locate your parts.
Hey Piratetip, I'll check with Tubbie here soon. I've tried couple other people in the parts for sale forum and no luck. I could go aftermarket but will cost more money. Thanks!
