the e-brake is a locally made item from a race shop. deff wasnt cheap at $400 AUS but the feel of one compared to cable brake is huge.

this is a comparison between the old garret bb gt3040r (0.82) and a trust plain bearing t78 33 d 17cm on same dyno on same motor. only thing that change other then the turbo was 2 3/4" (t78) cooler piping onm hot side rather then 2.5" (gt30)

the dodgy lines are a rough indication of the afr's. the green lines are the gt30, the red is the t78. the red hasnt been tuned (more just slapped on to make sure it was safe (rich) so that i could drift as i didnt have time to tune it,

well dont have any vids but only a couple of pics my mate took

the big turbo isnt drift friendly but made the most of what i got.

was happy to stay off the walls and stay out the sand pits and the mighty 7m didnt miss a beat after sitting on 3rd gear limiter the whole day.

its 1 of the fasted tracks in australia to drift and the best drifters are lapping it in 3rd and 4th the whole time

if any better pics emerge - ill post them up, but as for now heres what i got so far

heres mine latest dyno session results

this time no excuses,
the 346 hp run is tuned 11.5:1 ratios 17 degrees timing (pump fuel 98 ron)
the 326 is untuned gate pressure (looks like my overly long screamer is affecting boost control)
and 413 is with vp109 at 11.3:1 and 20 degrees timing.

that rpm at bottom of page is slightly out. for example, 6500 on dyno = approx 6700-6800 at the motor. and the limiter is set at 7k

all 3 graphs are breaking up, up top. time for better coils/ignition system.

shouldnt be 2 long (once i replace syncros and fix ignition) then drags it is. been distracted by the whole drift thing.

Gday matey,Love to see a supra at the strip, ive just a few engine questions though...Why the 3.mm h/gasket? What piston and rods are you useing?whats your comp ratio?Has the head been ported? im just curious because i expected much more on the dyno considering the size of turbo and the good work youve done on intake and intercooler setup.
Either way it kicks ass, look forward to more vids.

hey mate

i bought this motor off a mate who downgraded to a 2jz (we still oew money on it :()

he has it rebuilt to stock specs quiet a few years ago, stock rods, stock pistons and even stock head bolts!

not sure why he didnt go arp and not sure why he choose 3mm hg but the compression is low around the 145 psi mark across all cylinders

hense its not making alot of power for the turbo/boost its running

the head has been ported also but that seems to have mad elittle diff.

compared to my other motor which had 1.2mm hg - this motor is very laggy and un responsive but its held together for so long - no way in hell im pulluing the head off to swap gaskets

yeah thats pretty low comp , i wouldnt stress over ARP's at that pressure.lol good call though on pulling it to bits if its running great and reliable.
cant wait for further progress.

Nice work. I'm looking for more people who would be interested in carbon doors to lower alittle weight. I'm not getting enough reaction from anyone to get it going though.
