Finally got the electric fan legitimately wired in to a switch in the dash, instead of being rigged up while driving, which wasn't recommended by far.. Spare fog light switches ftw!

Just needs a catback fabbed up and its inspectable. Just got hired at a new job so this is on the back burner for a little while, if all goes well should be road worthy come August at this point I suppose.

Well I got it plated and insured yesterday, drove it to work both days. Unfortunately it wants to run hot so I haven't been driving it more than I have to.

Doesn't really seem like a BHG though, its not sucking coolant and only on the way home today did it purge any out of the overflow tank onto the intercooler. I think the way the previous owner mounted the fan though the radiator may be causing a leak, however today when I drove it it ended up steaming out of the top of the cap and eventually pushing past it, spitting uptop of the rad a small bit.

My only real thought was that the whole system is clogged, as I'm almost positive the previous owner tried using that liquid headgasket junk.. So I'm at a crossroads here, not really sure what I want to do first here. For starters I was thinking of flushing the system given that fact, any other suggestions?

Been a while since I updated this. Finally broke down and was obvious it was a BHG, so I tore it all down and took the head off. The head needed a good deal of work and I ended up finding a good deal on one that's currently on its way here :icon_bigg

Anyhow, here's what i found when I pulled the head off:

Also, I forgot to mention. This was supposidly a remanned block dropped in here at 100k and the car has 140k now. Turns out to be an ATK block (found the sticker + blue painted block). They apparently decked the block, without the front timing cover :|
So my friend who's shop its at is going to try and figure out the height difference and make them even so I don't have any problems down the road here..

Any car that's been driven with a BHG should have the block pulled, disassembled, and the bearings checked... or better yet, replaced. They aren't costly, and they are often in sad shape.
