Looks like you have a good platform, besides the doors looking like butt cause of the special edition house screws (which i have myself on my 89) your car is clean. I love the black wheels and new tires + wash. Makes it look that much better.

I myself have a pre89 car. I've been debating the 89 front bumper but i think i will keep it pre89. I know for a fact i'm going 89+ for tails n wing cause the stock one i messed up. Good luck with it and i can't wait to see some progress!

i remember my blue 87 turbo I painted the black also. Nice car is the paint original? If you can get rid of the pinstripe it will look really. just my opinion

The paint is 90% original. The dealer did a very rushed job on front bumper + nose, and rear bumper since they faded. I can't complain too much, but they sprayed all over the muffler, gas tank... and its chipping.

what are your plans for the small things like mirrors (keep them, go 89+, or Euro/JDM mirrors?), fogs (yellow, clear?), and interior (6.5 speaker pods; they came in burgundy)..?

Everything is going to be pre-89. I have a bunch of long term goals some of which include 89+ cars, but for this one I'm keeping the pre-89 style. 89+ is so over done I want to build a NICE pre-89 car... not enough these days! I'm switching to 6.5" speaker cups inside though, as well as some 91+ door inner trim. Interior will all be painted black eventually so I can see this not being hard to find in any color. Also this specific car will be 7MGTE for its life! I will be rocking 89+ trim until I can find a way to make a nice set of my own from scratch.

As for everything else, I change my mind a lot, depending on a lot of things like what I can find that's cool ect.

But I will say this, stay tuned If my plans come together it will be different! :naughty:

I also bought a Digital Dash again... some guy very local had one from a 3.0 Limited Clip w/ almost everything so I've decided to continue on with my old LHD Digital Dash project. I also have a Super Monitor coming in the mail ( thinking of following in Suze's footsteps on this one ), and a Toyota Supra badge for the front nose.

No, actually my PS is completely out now! I'm going to order brand new hoses Friday.

I got them mounted at a place called "BridgeStone". Probably slightly more then walmart, total w/ balancing was like 82 dollars.

Finally got a "Toyota Supra" badge for the front nose cone. Fixing a fender that needed fixing this weekend. Still waiting on my Super Monitor, 6.5" Speaker pods and a 3.0 Turbo badge VIA mail. Hopefully trim at some point still, no luck finding a good cheap set.

So, how do a movie the stupid little pin stripe on the side of my car with out ruining the paint now? :( This is my next mission.

and no one seemed to mention that my front sidemarket is burned out :p.

Is the paint stripe painted on or is it that cheapo sticker kind?
And for 89+ trim I got the two rear corners I'll sell ya, previous owner painted them black. Don't really need them as I scored a sweet complete, clean set locally.

I seen a thing for removing decals and pinstriping a while back. it was like a rubber wheel thing that you put in your drill and it rubs it right off or something. never tried it but maybe you can find something like that.

I'm not a fan of black wheels or sawblades, but the picture of yours at the carwash looked surprisingly good. I wouldn't say that too often either. I'm just not a fan of black wheels. Good luck with the rest of your upgrades.

These can be disastrous in untrained hands, I've seen people burn right through paint when they weren't paying attention.
First I'd try putting a little solvent on one end of the stripe, try to get it started. If the fails move on to a heat gun, but remember to not hold in on too long, or set it down in a place where it will still heat the paint. Since the pin stripe is old it probably wont come off in one piece, but the trick is to pull it off very slowly to get it in as large as chunks possible. all else fails try wet sanding one edge a little to see if you can get whatever is holding it down off. What ever you do, you'll probably gonna want to buff out the other side once the striping is off.

I'm at the point now where I just don't care. I need to sand down 2 little rust spots on one of the rear fenders, and the rust spots that are probably hidden under the rusting trim ( Thanks Toyota ). The front bumper, and the rear bumper are chipping as well. It's time to get ready for paint and a rebuild. I'm now pretty much going to run it until I find a cheap beater.

I think I'm either going to have to change the name and information on my original post / this thread pretty soon. Project Simple is going to turn out to be Project not so simple pretty soon to an extent. I'm purchasing some things this week that will change my plans entirely that I just couldn't pass.

But Thank's suprahero :p. I love black wheels so you'll probably hate my next set of wheels.

Hate is such a strong word. I may dislike them, but I will view them with an open mind and give you my honest opinion. Hopefully I will like them. I love the wheels that tooquik89 has on his car, but mainly because of the chrome lip around the black wheels. Good luck. Supra builds become complicated and expensive in a matter of seconds.

Well not really I don't find "hat" too strong ;)
(if it were "beret" I'd be offended)

Ha, I went out and bought some value 6.5" Sony XPLOD's the same night I bought them from you. I'm not aiming for the sky on audio right now, but it sure will beat the heck out of blown 3" speakers.
