OP, you get any error codes when you set the jumper to do the timing? You DID jumper TE and E1 when you did the timing, right? Timing is the most likely reason for the hot manifold... you're running WAY retarded. After you get this fixed you should do a compression test... you may have damaged something else while going through all of this.
