guyes i think ill get a set....but im not sure... here is some question for pistons pro..they are better then je pistons??

they are a good combo with eagle rods??

they can hold how much psi//hp??

No one knows EXACTLY if they are better. No one even has these pistons so .....yea.
There is no answer to your third question, to many variables.

And i dont know of anyone using eagle/JE combo's. All i know is if i went JE, I'd have some better rods.
If you search there was a thread comparing all rods (eagle, stock and pauter rods) like a month or 2 ago.

An there was just one on that subject recently where it has been brought to our attention (by doward) that eagle rods are made by the exact same materials (even gas treated IIRC) as the 1K big dog rods for the 7Ms ;). The only setback is that the rods aren't exactly matched to each other to the close tolences that are needed, but anyone with their right mind would have their expensive rods checked and balanced together anyways instead of trusting the big name and big bucks that go along with them ;).

That's correct! Always check the tolerances of anything you put together - and check it again, just to be sure!

I am definately in for one set. This is exactly the piston I was looking for. A daily drivable forged piston.

this is EXCELLENT!!!! however, Doward..... even though 46 ppl want to buy these pistons, and i truly believe most of them would buy them eventually, getting $3000 as a lump sum will be harder than expected i would assume. but then again, we all know what assume stands for........ anyway, yay for forged pistons!

I've got a quick question regarding which pistons I should buy...

My motor has 130,000km on it, pulls *hard* and was babied by an old man the first 100k. Should I be ok to buy a standard size set then just get the block honed? or get a 20 over set just to be safe?

if a compression test checked out OK would this be a good indication of the condition of my cylinder walls?

There's really no way of knowing until you pop the head and check :(

UPDATE:

Got ahold of Eric/Shawn today! Shawn's still modelling the combustion chamber, and he's saying we hope to have the solid model TOMORROW (cross your fingers!)

I just went out to finish tearing my block down and got a better look into the cylinders, and they still have the crosshatching on them. I'm thinking of still going .020 over to really get the piston-wall clearances specified. I might just go buy a new micrometer set.:icon_bigg

I come from a land down under
Mass: At a bare minimum it'll need honing so I'd be careful about this approach in case you end up building a rattle monster :(
(piston to bore needs to be quite tight with modern forged pistons and there's a chance you'll end up with too much clearence)
