I wish Boss was around when i first got my SP, the only problem is now I only have about $1k to spend... I can rebuild, for cheap, upgrade to SP61GTBB/SP67GTBB for that $1k, or I can go with an ebay manifold setup. Its a tough one, with your sucsess its a shame I didnt go Boss from the beggining.

Well, you could upgrade your current turbo to the bb version, but then there goes your $1000. The cost seems a bit high to me, considering you already spent around $1300 for the turbo to begin with. That amount of money could have been spent on a nicer turbo setup. You could sell your sp61, but I dont think youll get a lot for it. You could possibly go to a t4 setup with that plus your original $1000. I dont see the point in swapping all the components out unless you are going to go with something worthwhile. Hello GT35. Also with swapping to a different setup, you have to figure in other costs. How about your lower IC pipe, downpipe, oil lines, etc. It will probably cost you around $2 Gs for a decent tubular setup, even if you utilize an ebay manifold. I am personally going to slap this sp61 that I couldnt get rid of back on my car and wait to see if SP drops a couple hundred on the BB upgrade. I will be happy with 400hp, honestly. These are just some items for thought and my personal opinion which shouldnt be taken too seriously.:biglaugh:

haha all posts welcome Nick! Its a tough decision.. in the end i'll probably just end up going with the SP67GTBB upgrade, unless I find an option that I'm really stoked on, or if I find a really good deal on something else. Its hard to say. I used to say I'd be happy with 400whp, but now 500 sounds more like it.. ;)

Based soley on what I have read, that Boss 550, and the GT35R are two of the best for a 7M. They certainly are not the same, but both seem to work very well.

My setup is a turbo called the CT26. Perhaps you have heard of it?

ts04 (58mm) .7 hot side
RPS header
505whp @ 29psi on a motor with 1 cyl at 100psi and another at 120psi. The rest were low 140s.

Dead nuts reliable. I have 65k miles on this turbo and header. I have about $3k in parts from the SS lines to the header, turbo, WG, and downpipe.

Turbonetics 60-1, T4 P-trim with Supra turbine elbow housing.(for now).
May switch to different turbine housing and external WG in the future.
Cost me an arm & a leg, 1K to be exact. I like the warranty on the Turbonetics turbo, 1 year and no questions asked. Like the polished comp. housing too!:bling:

Master Power T70. Coated the CHRA and compressor back housing and hot side heat sheild. Also coated the hot side after porting it :)

Very modified e-Bay manifold from SS Auto Chrome. (Nice header for the money, but it will not just bolt up larger turbo's without some adapters, or welding work.)
I added three T4 flanges twisted like a deck of cards to push the turbo forward, and twist it out so the compressor is pointed at the snorkle hole more. Then I cut off the wastegate flange, moved it up about an inch, and turned it 90 degrees. (Also changed the angle, so it fits down there better.)
Welded up the insides at the ports, then ported them everywhere I could. Also removed and ported everything I could get my carbide's to.

Waste gate is 50mm e-Bay HKS copy. Valve is not stainless, but I've coated the hot part, and polished the shaft, then coated it with WSX, a dry film lubricant, so it should not stick... Coated the cast iron hot housing and valve seat of course :)

Custom 3" DP with V-band at the turbo. (And it's setup so I can put my stock lower cat into the setup to pass the smog check every year.)

Delphi 780cc low impeadance injectors. Maft Pro in speed density mode, and with boost and timing control, Areomotive AFPR. Two 255lph fuel pumps. Dual fuel lines into a "Y" fitting then into large AN6 fuel feed on the stock fuel rail.

3.24L stroker motor, 327sbc rods with 7M pins, 6" long, 6.5mm more stroke. ROSS pistons, Ebay stainless 1mm OS valves, ported and coated head, custom oil pump, lines and system :) RX7 cooler with T-stat and larger MAXX FMIC and custom IC pipes now powdercoated candy apple red... BLING!

ST sway bars, Tokiko TEMS struts, B&G springs, SSR Comp's in 18" size, Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's.. (Best tires I've ever tried.) And for stopping, the 14" brakes from hell :) (14x1.38 slotted, spirally vented two piece rotors with 6 piston Wilwood GNIII calipers, rear has 14x1.25 slotted spirally vented two piece with steel hats that incorporate the stock parking brakes in them clamped by 4 piston Wilwood forged billet dynalite's.)

The car finally stops as well as it goes.

Hopeing for mid 600's at the wheels. More would be excellent.

Polished and ceramic coated Frankenstein 5 Greddy TD06-20g with a Garret 60 trimp compressor wheel. It's conservatively rated at 590 hp. We'll see. Here's a pic.

Thanks Hot. I think it should yield some pretty good numbers and give me some decent spool time. We'll see when next year rolls around...
