I looked at the Shine stuff and it seems really nice! I would very likely buy but still doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for. The website shows the "Spec-G" lip on a pre 89, but the angles still look a bit off. Like it was made for the 89+ and adapted to the 89-. I'm more interested to know where to find these or ones with similar fit.......

aftermarket pre 89 lips will not be easy to come by. Most pre 89 bumpers have

- no lip
- stock lip

Then there are some that do a home depot lip, few have the shine gbrand and Bomex lip. Then theres the ultra rare CFX lip.

If you want a selection of lips to choose from, the best thing to do is convert to an 89 bumper.

Guess I'm out of options if I want it to match the lines perfectly. Gotta go with the 89+ bumper. Bug bummer! I was hoping someone somewhere made a lip that would match the lines of the 89- bumper still. Oh well.

Sounds cool. If you know where I can get 1 please LMK! I really don't wanna have to convert my car over. I have started collecting parts cause I don't wanna do just 1 piece of the conversion. Although I really don't wanna do any of it. :-(

Nick produced Bomex 2 and 3 hole lips for Pre89. There are very few lips that have not been made for pre89 but exists for 89+. The S2 lip is one, along with the Shine Type 2 and H, although they are very similar in style. If there was enough demand, more pre89 lips would be made.

I've never seen an 89+ CFX lip either, maybe the best thing to do is convert to a pre89 bumper. :)

Did you mean "there are very few lips that have been made for the pre89...."? I've combed through nearly 100 pages of this thread, only aftermarket lips I've seen are

Bomex

Shine Gbrand,

cfx lip (good luck on getting one though),

and this lip below (good luck with it too)

So really...the only aftermarket lips available for the pre89 are Bomex and GBrand. To top it off, it's not easy to get a hold of pre89 Bomex lips.

So...the only readily available pre89 lip is the GBrand. Going back to what I said earlier...for a good selection of lips, converting to 89+ bumper is the thing to do.

I have the 1st Bomex 3 Hole pre 89 lip Nick produced:wavey:

There aren't many choices, I do like how Viper's home depot lip came out though, but let us hope for that one car-tech bumper cover to be produced by Shine, I know (think) zazzn has one...

No I said exactly what I meant.

I wasn't talking about quantity, obviously there are more readily-available 89+ lips. I was mainly just talking about the lips existing, and having been produced, meaning they are out there. There are more 89+ lips because there are more people with 89+ bumpers that BUY lips plain and simple. If there was enough demand for a pre89 lip it would be created, but we all know what happens once the price is posted. Pre89 lips don't sell consistently like the 89+ lips, I don't blame the businesses for not producing them regularly.

I was just messing with you in the last part of my last post, hence the smiley. You can't come in a pre89 bumper thread posting that expecting to get away with it ;)

We were looking into it earlier in this thread but came out empty handed besides those same crappy tiny pictures on various body kit sites. I even emailed Sarona about more pics but never got a reply.
