That's not the big problem actually (though it's not a great idea)...the only vac source is the intake....not very effective. The best would be a source right behind the TB w/ a check valve to prevent back flow under boost.

About the picture in post #34... What was that person thinking when He put the oil catch can on the valve covers?? :aigo:

What is the problem with that?

(I'm sorry if it's a stupid question but I'm sure it's not searchable and I would like to know)

That catch can is going to be hot, hot, hot!

The oil vapors aren't going to condese well at all in that spot. The catch can needs to be a cool location to better assist the oil vapors in consensing and getting trapped into the can itself and not back into the intake pre-turbo.

John, I noticed that as well ;). I wonder how his main seals are doing? ;)

What type of check valve would you recommend John? I don't think I'll be using my stock TB.

John - LOL...that will work too. Are you going to exhaust the pump into the intake to the turbo?

Kristian - In addition to what SS5 said, the intake is a poor source of vacuum, the TB is a far better source (~20 in/hg) and you need vacuum to pull the vapors into the catch can.

Chris - I'm looking for a good one myself, but have not had the time lately. I plan on looking at MacMaster Carr for one...I'm thinking one to fit an AN8 size hose will be plenty. If you're using the stock TB, one should not be necessary if you hook up to the same location the present PCV pipe is at.

ROFLMAO @ you. Your dad can't fab one up real quick?

Nope, the pump is going to pull from the crankcase, through a catch can, through a filter, and simply flow out down into the exhaust, after the 3" cat.

I'm going to build it as a venturi tube, to help the vacuum pump under WOT.

Doward- I would but we don't have necessarily "machining" tools and I want it nice, I know its just a piece of aluminum with a few holes in it but I'd spend a little bit more on a nice piece, but maybe I'll see if Partsco can fab something up for me.

C.44- Yes you can, refer to the first few FFIM's posted.

Isn't it possible to keep the AC AND the battery in front ?
Im planning on moving ONLY the battery, on my frount mount, it would clean up, not keep as much heat under there, and distribute some of my FAT beauty's weight!!!:biglaugh:

But some people like simplicity, and want to be able to go to the track without having to install a cutout switch on the back for your rear-mounted battery. This is the main reason mine will be staying up front.

Not only trackuse but in germany we have tuv. If it even looks so much as not original (as in battery in the wrong location), you're SOL.
