I cannot find a blue display, the only place that i have found to carry them is Kingbright and im not paying around $20 shipped for a display. Any one know of any other places or companies that carry blue displays and does the display need to be .4? I found a few .56 or something along those lines on ebay for mad cheap

Personally, I would recommend either digikey.com or mouser.com for electronics hardware (like LED's, resistors, 7-segment displays, etc.). For example, I think someone mentioned the size was .4", so here's 2 blue ones:

Cathode

Common Anode

Note: I'd recommend doing your own search (if you initially search for 'LED 7 segment', then select the category 'Display Modules - LED Character and Numeric (899 items)', it will get you to what you need). The specs on the links I gave might not be right, I don't have an 89+ display so I haven't actually looked at the size of the digits. Good luck.

Yeah, the displays that I'm buying are 0.5", so they'll be somewhat larger than stock, but I'm sure that I can make them fit in the window, and not look stupid. I'm just hoping that the display is common cathode. If not, then I won't be able to make the parts that I bought work at all. (Just gotta be sure not to wreck the part that I have. :))

I don't know if it's common cathode or common annode. I bought some 7 segment common cathode displays, which I'll be able to use for other projects if this doesn't work. I have a couple of other things that I can use digit displays for, so it's not a waste if it doesn't work.

I won't know if that's how it works until I take things apart again, which I'm not planning to do just yet. I HOPE that it's common cathode is all.

Aryte guys so my LEDs finally came and I got my soldering iron and solder. Now I just have to wait for the desoldering pump so I can get started:D

go to radio shack and get some braided solder wick. its much easier to use (IMO)

yea but I figured I could keep the pump forever and use it whereas the solder wick is going to run out eventually and I know I'm going to be using this stuff a lot so I decided to just order the pump.

yess I'm finally done but my stupid temp display is still green but whatever I don't even care it looks beautiful lol. If I have the time then I'll swap it out for a blue one but I'm happy the way it is and as promised heres a picture.

i did all red, and i love it. ill post pics as soon as i finish my swap and put the battery back in. the only thing i left green is the temp display. because i didnt have a replacement. the whole process prolly took 10 hours. totally worth it.

good luck
