I know how you feel, all cars that are a decade and a half old are going to be a pos if you don't take good care of it. I went through two rebuilds with my car, and it's still a pos but I love it to death.

go through the steps you used when doing the HG.

Did you deck the block AND head? did you torque to 85+ft lbs, did you use ARP studs. What kind of gasket did you use. Did you make sure the HG was on straight and properly, did you torque the head down in the proper pattern, did you use any kind of sealing aid (copper spray, permatex). Again what model/brand of HG what was the thickness etc.

details details!

i dont it all. i just got done retorqing my studs a couple of weeks ago. the thing that i think it is. my recent posts about my car over boosting for no reason. my car is pretty much stock but for some reason it would slam my boost past 8 psi and would do it really quick. that cant be good for my hg. but know body could give a definetive anwser why my car was doing this.

check your wastegate vac lines probably not hooked up, got ahole in them or something along those lines.

You probably detonated and blew the HG if its a stock HG.

yeah well thats why your boost is spiking to 8+ is that wastegate, check the lines and check the diaphram. Check the lines again even if you just replaced them.

do you have a MBC (manual boost controller) if so the lines might be on reverse.
