Justin, yeah, I was tired of speculating on things, so I had to know for sure what I had... I need to know to make sure I dont over boost it or anything like that... Also, Im trying to find out why exactly I cant boost past 15 psi and why it takes so long to hit 15... Thinking I had a HUGE a/r, I was going to buy a .68 hot side, well, now that I know I hav a .70, then I dont need to buy a 68, lol...

Tubbie, I tried to google that, but it has no info for me... Even the link you gave me really doesnt answer anything... Thanks though...

IJ, and you guys, here are a few more pics for you all... It's hard to measure EXACTLY the width because of the curve, but this is close... Let me knwo if this info helps and if these pics are helpful...

Oh, and Z1, I am going to take my w/g off and check it out... I just had to take my turbo off to see what I had, and what the properties of this thing are...

Dan, how much more apart can I take it? lol... I dont wanna mess up any balance or anything... Pulling the housings off already makes me nervous, lol...

BTW: what PSI are you running on that chart?

I was at 13.5-14. The lower number (green) was with my cutout closed using the stock catback.

Based on your measurements here is how yours compares to mine.

Cold side

Mine
Small-61mm
Big- 82mm

Yours
Small-60mm
Big-73mm

Hot side

Mine
Small-61mm
Big-74mm

Yours
Small-67mm
Big-75mm

Looks to me on your dyno sheet that your reaching full boost about 5200 or so. I hit mine at about 4400. It was 3150 with the stock CT in 4th.

Maybe someone can chime in about the effects of the different size wheels in terms of lag. I am sure I could run alot more boost if I turned it up. If you don't have wastegate issues, could it be the smaller cold size wheel maxing out maybe?

I come from a land down under
14 blade Comp wheel with very upright blades I would have thought would be a huge clue to what this beast is!
(just knocked off for lunch so I won't get a chance to search till after work tonight)

Going by my boost guage, and my EVC, Im really NOT reaching full boost until 6000+ rpm... Look at my dyno, you'll see my hp actually planes off at 6000rpm...

And I SERIOUSLY doubt my turbo has reached it's max potential at 15psi... If that's the best it can do: FOR SALE! ONE MYSTERY TURBO! MAKE OFFER!

seriously, you have a larger turbine wheel so it has more flow then a smaller wheel. kindal ike when they clip a ct26 turbine for more flow past the wheel. get yourself a 0.58 a/r for the turbine and you should see a huge improvement in spool and should be able to increse the boost past 15.

His exhaust A/R is not to big. i hit max spool by 4500rpm with a .84 hot side and a 70mm compressor wheel. Made 441 to the wheels at 5500rpm. I would go after the wastgate issue. Just my two cents.

If I go with a 58, will the hp/tq start dropping off as it peaks to red line? See Dan's dyno sheet? I do NOT want that... See mine? I DO want that... I want a table top torque curve and hp pull to red line...

On my last supra, I had that same dyno curve as Dan, it would peak and I could feel her loosing power... I had a CT26 60-1 w/ 10' clip... How big is the AR on a CT26?

What about this: what would happen if I kept the turbine wheel the same but had my compressor wheel replaced with a MUCH larger wheel and had my compressor housing bored out... With that said: what's teh largest compressor wheel I can put on here with this turbine?

what you guys are over looking is ther a/r is just a ratio that has to do wit hthe housing in relation to the turbine wheel. the smaller the turbine wheel, the larger the housing youll need for flow. with such a large turbine wheel, the smaller turbine should suit it perfect. its possible its a wastegate prob, but with a compressor that small, id run the 0.58 if it were me.

Jake,

All that I was saying was that based on the wheel measurments you provided, the configuration seems odd.

I base that on the large amount of preconfigured turbos on the PTE site and none of them match that small of a cold side with that large of a hot side wheel wise.

As to why you can't boost over 15psi, I have no clue.

Good luck

Try PTE, they will sell a new comp. housing and CHRA for 650.00. I would bet the comp. housing, wheel, and balancing would be about 300.00.

Worst case is your out shipping if you don't like their recommendations and they send it back to you.

So is my hot side too big for my cold side Dan? I'll look into PTE... I basically want something that will spool fast, hold boost to red line and give me the most hp at the least amount of boost...
