Piston Choice okay?

I'm just going for a stock rebuild for my engine - not looking to push insane amounts of power - 300bhp is pretty much all i'm aiming for, and current setup is about stock, with the exception of the 3" elbow back exhaust (with HKS elbow), and no boost increase over the standard actuator.

I found a set of pistons + rings on eBay the other day for $210, but i cant find them at the moment - however i *did* find these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=330091449925&rd=1&rd=1

Seems like a bargain, although they look like 100% OEM / Stock Pistons + rings.

I'm going to have the block re-bored to the next oversize anyway, so they'd be matched to the bores.

Opinions, guys? :)

The price of those pistons would scare me into NOT buying them .....as Bishop 92t said : go for stock oem items if 300 is your goal .

Why not kick down an extra $320 and buy some Wiseco pistons? NEVER have to worry about them at that HP level, and if you decide you need more power later, you have plenty of room. Piece of mind is priceless when building these engines.

Not looking for power, i'm looking for reasonable reliability. Plus, i have a budget to work to. The max i can spend on a set of pistons is about $350 - which is why those looked so tempting. I also have to get ARP's and a set of bearings, headgasket and a few other items...

rings i can always get elsewhere - for the price, even if just the pistons are the only thing good, its still a fair deal.

I'm just spoken to his holyness, i need 40 thou oversize, so i shall also be needing an 84mm headgasket - i'm NOT after a metal one, just a standard one will do me - Mr T do them in oversize?

Also - re headbolts, as i understand it, you can re-use them, but is it worth buying just new OEM ones?

Thanks for the heads up re the oil pump, i might get that as well...see how much i can get one for here though - things like Pistons and the like are hard to come by unless you drive a cosworth or some form of ford/vauxhall :D

i have the TOGA HV oil pump which iirc is the topline op, so i say just get an OEM and shim it. b/c the one i have is just a re-badged OEM as i was informed by a mod iirc.
