Please post up pics of stock lips painted along with the rest of the car. I'm contemplating painting the stock lip, and not sure if it will look good or not, so pics would help.

I've seen a couple here and there on the net. My conclusion is that cars with dark paint can get away with it... lighter cars, only if it's molded into the bumper and a friggin' great design to begin with.

I like how it's black through and through. That way I can drag it on every parking lot entrance/speed bump/small animal that I want to, and I don't have to worry about it looking like crap.

To me it'd be like that car with the white interior accents...white? Are you kidding me? It'd look nice for about three seconds and then once the car was driven some it'd just look trashy.

Lintlars, just looked at your pic, and I will say I like how the painted lip makes the bumper more rounded-looking at the bottom, especially on lighter colored cars. I just don't like how it shows every little nick or scratch. I have enough problems keeping my paint looking good...and of course Toyota played it safe and built for best appearance in a worst case scenario and went with a dark in-mold color.

I think everyone hit the nail on the head here. I have never seen a painted stock lip on a stock bodied car that didn't look bad. Keep it black, or spend a couple bucks on an aftermarket lip since there are about 100 different replicas out there now for 89+
