parts that can be replaced with something lighter

ok i got a friend who can make just about anything out of CF.. i saw his work and its some good work, its 1 layer of fiberglass then the rest is CF. im wondering if there is anything that can be replaced with cf to save some weight, such as body panels/dash/ hatch ect ect..

i know you were saying what could you replace with cf but you could replace all the glass with lexan the hatch glass is really heavy.

Start with the hood. That'll save 30+ pounds right there. Alloy wheels would be a good 2nd step, along with a 1-piece driveshaft (steel is prefered because it is stronger, but it does weigh a few pounds more than aluminum).

The interior side panel inserts near the rear seats are HEAVY sheet metal. If I could make figerglass ones quickly and easily, I would do that for sure.

I always thought about how that would work. Be cool to do that then make a nice fiberglass or sheet metal body to go over it.

im damn near 110 lbs already, so diet's out the question for me...

use a lighter battery (preferably located to the rear) take out the spare/jack/tools, and replace it with a can of that green shit..

CF hood, take out the rear sun shade (mine doesnt have it to begin with, so no biggie for me) if you're targa, and dont plan on going far, leave it at home, instead of putting it on the holders..

simple shit that doesnt cost alot of money ('cept the CF hood, but that's baller so all is forgiven)
