owning a 15yo car has made me cheap

how is it different exactly? i'd imagine it has more HP and torque but does it at a higher RPM. i heard the 7m's dont like to rev much... and that our torque comes in quicker....i think.

i want to test drive all the different engines.

when at a supra meet...will other supra owners commonly let other supra owners drive their cars? how about go for a ride? cause i really really want to go for a ride in a turbo...i havent even heard one spool up before...not up close and in person. ESPECIALLY not inside.

Got a call from Jose and Aaron at Driftmotion today. I got to hear the 1JZ start over the phone! Those guys are the best!!! They said the car should be done tomorrow night.

Today I got all the ignitor wiring and engine bay wiring sorted out, make a custom intake, extended the 1jz downpipe to meet up with the shorter US cat. Jose fixed the crank sensor connector, PPS, and reverse lights. We did a compression test and changed the spark plugs. All cyl were close to 170 psi. We drained all the fluids and took out the radiator, a new Koyo race radiator goes in tomorrow morning. The driveshaft dust shields were bent so we took off the drive shaft and took care of that. We'll get the ac hooked up and working tomorrow. They had no hydrofan cooler installed and that is important so we will take care of that.

The job was started at another shop, but Matt brought it to us when they ran into installation problems they could not figure out.

We are on track for FOUR 1jz mk3's on the road in 3 weeks!

Yeah, we are Driftmotion slaves 10-12 hour days m-f.

Plus we are working on:
Tommy's 7m-gte build that is now going to be maft pro, wideband, and afpr along with the 57 trim, brand new shortblock and full build.
20 valve going into a Starlet with a lsd and other stuff!
7m-gte longblock build for a different Matt with arp everything, fully balanced and blueprinted.
2jz-gte longblock build with forged pistons and all the goodies.
MK4 2jz-ge engine replacement next week.

...and getting orders shipped out promptly!

The day I ever decide to go 1jz/2jz, most likely 2J, I'm freaking shipping my car to Aaron from Miami :icon_bigg, nothing beats having someone work on a car that does swaps everyday and knows/owns the same car. It seems like you guys at Driftmotion can do the swaps with your eyes closed. lol, good job guys.

I think you need to:
1) get some real seats since they're about the same price
2) who cares how old the car is are you planning on selling it soon?
3) get the new seats and test them wit yo bitch and check for comfort:biglaugh:
