would you ever go with corbeau seats or do you have your mind set on recaro.
corbeau seat link(decent prices)https://www.vwparts.net/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?

or you could just get the driver seat as a recaro and leave the passenger stock till you could pay for the passenger

dont buy the cheapies. they could be made of plastic frames for all you know and you wont unless you break them apart or let a collision do it for you. they're probably metal but what would a cheapo company care if their seat breaks...i wouldn't be suprised if they stuck "for offroad use only" somewhere in their warning label :D

but on the more serious side, what's wrong with your stock seats? personally i like them in mine and the adjustibility of the electric supports is nice, especially when someone else drives my car. damn pain in the ass to fix back but at least they aren't driving my baby and feeling so uncomfy they're driving funny. it's no fun driving a car when the seat is adjusted wrong.

how much does it cost to get seats custom upulstered? (spelling mutilation..sorry) cause if it's comparible i'd just take in my electrics, have the motors replaced (for good meausre) and then have them covered in black with red trim and maybe even a "supra" logo....

what you think? i couldnt tell you what exactly i'd do because there is no way i can afford two cars let alone those two. lol.

Persoanlly I agree with figit90

no aftermarket seats comes close to the comfyness of the stockers. Do they weigh alot? sure but man I can tell you without a doubt.

1500 miles over three day, one day nearly 20 hours. No hurt anywhere. :)

i love the stock seats, and I've got a manual drivers seat I'm considering having reupholstered to match my interior color....best of both worlds right there. Light and comfy FTW!

the only problem is that I want to cage it and run with harnesses, and I don't think the track officials will let me run harnesses on the stock seats :(

there's nothing wrong with my stock seats, even the leather is in perfect condition... I just don't like them. When you go from the stock seats to the recaros, there's just no comparison in feel. I've sat in those ebay seats and they are almost identical in feel and come with a lifetime warranty on the frame.

Then why didn't you save money and buy them for your suburu too?

suprahero - lol...

mattjk - you have nice leather seats? BLAHH!!! i'd like to have them...but i guess mine are really nice to... whatever. i dont remember what the leather ones look like...i dont think they look as nice. all i know is the stockers in cloth look pretty sprty and feel great.

has anyone ever sat in the both the cloth and the leather stock seats and compared the feel?

but anyway, my only other suggestion is to find a set of used seats.

you could look at the frame of the seats and see if you could cut holes in them... then wrap the cloth around the wholes or get plastic inserts. but i dont know if it would compromise the structure... the back of our seats unbolt if i'm not mistaken, take a look and see if you could have holes cut through without messing with the metal frame. dont know if it's worth the trouble though...lol.

Your car is far to nice to bastardize with knock off parts. Please If you dont want to spend the dough on a quality product just keep the stock seats. Cars like yours are a dying breed and getting rarer by the day. Dont think of it as a 15 year old car. think of it as a classic that paved the way for cars of today

I wouldn't do that man, especially to your car. common and spend the extra and go the extra yard. you know you won't regret it. just cuz its old doen't mean it doesn't need the love.

yeah, you're right. I'm taking my car in tomorrow for a 1jz swap, so I'm really dreading spending more money. I'll keep the stock seats in there.

You do know there is someone out there that would pay a lump sum of cash for your stock, new mint condition Shadow Grey leather seats.

I'm near certian that would make $1000 seem less harsh of an amount to spend. Especially since you know how wisely its being used.
