1.5 isnt a lot when you're using watercooling - you can usually risk 1.6v - although personally....1.55v is a limit

oooh - avoid the new quads unless you can hit some seriously silly FSB speeds - the multipliers on the new 1333Mhz FSB cpu's are pants

Holy thread resurrection!

Got my E7200 running flawlessly at 400x9 this morning, thanks to the updated P5Q Deluxe BIOS (1306) fixing all those memory 'issues'.

Going to try bumping the multi to 9.5 and seeing if it's still going to be stable for me...

I have a nice stepping of an Opteron 165, but I don't dabble in OCing anymore. It's nice that you can do it, but it starts to get nutty when you see dumbasses write negative reviews for processors just because they don't overclock well.

im pushing a Q9550 to 3.4 @ (stock is 2.83 ghz) stock voltage currently on my main rig. Use Intel burnin test, will quickly get your rig alot hotter than you thought it would go. I have an Athlon II in the garage (itx build!) with a mild OC (2.8 -> 3.2) but it gets alot hotter out there in an uninsulated garage (especially since my garage opens to the west...)

I built a 930 rig for my parents and got it stable to 4.0 on a noctua but was too scared to let it run there all day so backed it off to 3.6....

next I want to do a phenom ii x6 black and see what an unlocked multiplier looks like.

Hmm, not bad! Although i'm still on a Core 2 Quad 9650 @ 4Ghz, 8gb DDR2, 1:1 ratio and a P5Q Deluxe. It's more than fast enough for my needs now - the new stuff, and DDR3, is something i won't be jumping ship for, for some time to come.
