oil in coolant

:cry: so im draining my 1JZ rad, and it looks like i have oil in my coolant. this in fact created an emotion of sadness, therefore i am sad. :cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry: im going to drain my oil tomorrow and then do a compression test. you guys know where im getting at.. hopefully it was just broken seals between the twin turbos that let oil seep through my cooling system. ill update this, rare case of bhg on a 1jz? possibility, if so.. then 2jz here i come.

I have a similar problem... Opposite though. I have coolant leaking into my oil. I have a leaking head gasket and im rebuilding my 1J. I will be using a 2jz block though, it just seems dumb not to...

i did a coolant flush 2 weeks back when i blew my twins again. I dont think a car can build up so much crap within 2 weeks. the coolant that i drained out looked really really really brown like shit mixed really well with water.

Don't be so quick to condemn it. That would have to be ALOT of oil to contaminate all of the coolant. Sounds like classic cooling system corrosion/rusty water from having too low of a concentration of antifreeze probably most of its life. I've pulled BLACK (yes black) coolant out of many cars and rusty brown out of just about every other, without having a blown head gasket. And doing 1 or even 2 flushes is not going to remove all of it, in some extreme cases you will never remove it all no matter how much you flush.

To be 100% sure, just run a simple block test, it will help you sleep at night.

I said block test, not compression. You are better off leak down testing rather than compression testing if you are going to remove the spark plugs. I've had a BHG or 2 go undetected by just a compression test alone.

Compression test does not = 100% BHG detectability.

Block test = 100% BHG detectability!!

run a coolant system cleaner, prestone cleaner kit. you usually want to with JDM 1jzs because they might have been sittign there for a while, run it and it'll clean all of that crap out and you should be good to go. when i got my 2jz i took off the thermostat and all i saw was brown sludge (do a search on the forum you might find the post i think either doward or jdub responded to on how to remedy it)

i wouldnt worry too much unless i see it in the oil hehe

there is also a BHG test kit isnt there? i heard they work to some degree... or they fail horribly.....
