Hey guys, I posted a thread about this a few months back and after reading up on yalls opinions I came to the conclusion I had to pull head... I did and came upon this....

p1383419_1.jpg

Once I saw this I was quick to think yes... MHG did not seal, could have been rivets on cometic head gasket soo I removed all of them.. Cleaned viton off and sprayed with copper before laying the head down again... I finished putting the car back toghther this morning and once again the same problem... I did do the preston hose flush and it seemed like problem was fixed untill I used the prestone super flush stuff to make sure my system was completely clean... It came out milky white again and and spots of oil sittin on top...

Notes...
Head and Block were resurfaced for metal head gasket
Using ARP head bolts
Torqued at 75 ft/lb
The shop inspected the block for cracks and got none
Scrogging did the engine rebuild/resurfacing/inspection.. prob one of the best shops in Houston area
The rebuild has not even reached 500 miles driven

The car throws no codes and runs wonderful.... This really has me beat, before I pull head again and go with composite stone head gasket I would love to see yall's opinions... Any input would be greatly appriciated...

Not saying the block cant be cracked but the shop is extremely anal about what they work on.... Yeah they did check for cracks and inspected both block and head and checked out ok to work on... After resurfacing they checked again...... Unless the block just cracked all of a sudden then iono......

Well ... if this was me.. and me being poor.. and not wanting to spend a small gold mine on pulling everything apart and have presure tested ....... i would get oem head gasket... clean the block head as much as you can... take drain plug out.. get garden hose in there.. flush that sucker out as much as you can... get a leaf blower air hose.. what ever... then slap a oem gasket on there and see if it happens again... if it does it again... then you know you got something going on other then the head gasket area..... if it goes away... then something not right.. machining... or something.. and the most its gona cost you is a cheap head gasket and some cheap oil....

Drain and pressurize the cooling system, then scout around the engine with a stethoscope. Remove the plugs and drop the scope hose into each cylinder listening for escaping air. Obviously you need to find a quiet place to do this.

Well, I went and got a block tester this morning and the outcome of the two tests conducted were great great news......

See... Test 1, Blue mean no BHG

Test 2... more beautiful blue

Stuck my finger inside radiator and theres alot of serious white pudding like goo on the walls of it... I am suspecting radiator is dirty like hell all thru out.... hmmmm

did you bother to clean your cooling system after your blown head gasket (specifically, the radiator AND heater core)?

you are not using it right... the coolent needs to be a little low in the radiator... fill the thingy to that line on it were it says to fill.. the idea is you want to suck up the gasses on top of the coolent in the radiator... not suck up the water...

I fill up with blue stuff untill that line homer, once I sqeeze it it slowly starts to fill up with water... The radiator was 4/5 full.... Run the test again???... and yes I have claned it a bunch of times... When I use prestone super flush the water comes out dirty like crazy, when i use the prestone hose flush kit the water comes out 95% clean..... I am thinking the radiator is dirty on another scale.....

yes you fill it to the yellow line about 3/4 inch up from bottom... car needs to be hot and water flowing... it needs to be low enough that when you stick that thing in there it doens suck up water... you can hold it above the neck just a little.. 1/4 inch and just squease the ball ... keep squeasing.. till you know you have seen it suck air/gasses from inside the radiator ..if it turns yellow... bad... if it stays blue its ok...

Yes, I have done it with motor running..... Engine has been hot..... I will drain more coolant and follow homersimpsons instructions and try for the 3rd time before I take off radiator and take to shop for a flush.......... Update coming in 5 min.....

your motor needs to be running for this test iirr?

ok this test is to test of co2 in the cooling system... there is only one way for it to get ther and thats to have exahust gasses geting into the cooling system one way or another ... head gasket cracked head..

so for this to happen.. yes the engine has to be running up to temp and the thermostate open

this is what it should look like... notice the first pic.. the bubbles... going threw... this is the way it should look if you are doing it right.. and the system is working property and there is no water geting into the checker... thing.. do not reuse the blue die eather if it changes color..

dont put it in the radiator. the best way ive found is to run the engine with the cap off untill the coolant starts to smoke a lil but watch the temp gauge. just run it hot and dont put the tester in the rad. hold it like 1/4-in above the radiator. and you want to squeeze that top like 15 times waiting for it to stop bubbling each time.
