This happens to me too. I see about a quart and a half on the pavement under the car, but the level NEVER CHANGES. Anybody know why this happens? Even when I dump the oil it's still full. The biggest PITA.

Fookin Valve Ticking!!!!!!!!!!!! Fuck All Mighty For Gods Sake Stop Clicking!!

and for the dude above (modnar) do what i did, i found lots of little dorplets all over and no real change, well what i found was that i had a minute vavle cover leek that flooded the spark plug galley and well the oil just sat in there kind of splashing out every now and then and slowly leeking oil change after oil change and would trickel down my bellhousing, (and probably onto timing belt) and left those little wet dreams all over hte place.

change your sparkies and get a turkey baster, works good for getting the half quart out of the galley.

Classic. Actually, my parents have recently noticed that everytime I come home from school, another set of screwdrivers seems to go missing... What a strange coincidence.......

Thanks for the advice on the oil buildup. I'll have to look into that. You know add it to the list of things I want/need to do to my car.

Now where's the page that has the end of that list? too many things to do.........

actually, my high milage 7m ran great except it has a oil leak i cant find. leaks very little at low throttle, but if you get on the highway and nail it it leaks like crazy. like a quart in 30miles. and its all over the block. mainly the exhaust side. every gasket has ben replaced as well as all front and rear seals. and the seap on the cps. im stumped, but i would like to bitch about the 5 speed trannies. ive broken a high mileage w58(over 200k) and 2 mid mileage r154's (~100-120k) and have a nice low mile w58 in it now that i aby shift. thats why im going th400. there, i bitched. i feel better. lol

well, my car has been great to me. Other than the fact it leaks oil....oh everywhere. I replaced all the seals when I did the rebuild, yet after 10000 miles, it leaks again! I am doing this again when I get my clutch. The think I hate the most is the valve cover gaskets, which I have changed 4 times in two months and they still leak. I never thought of the turkey baster idea....sounds great. I have had no problems other than oil leaks, no headgasket problems, no rod knock since my rebuild. So yeah, the car does good. When I put my foot in it, it hauls ass and blows the tires away. So other than that and two clutches, I haven't had any problems... I think the clutch problem is trying to put 400hp down with sticky tires and drag launches on a STOCK clutch, with an original pressure plate from 88.....lol

wow....IJ digs one up from beyond the grave!

My 7m's were fine other than the 88 developing piston slap last fall, causing a mental breakdown and part out...

So now I have no idea what motor I want to stick in, but I have plenty of time to think about it. I have a fuel cell, quarter panel, cage, aluminum dash, lexan windows, blah blah blah to worry about first. Man....getting a job that pays good money does wonders for building a drag car.

Eh, I had mine given to me with a BHG - replaced it with a Titan 1.4MHG, had to fix a knock sensor, various hoses/belts, and the A/C doesn't work correctly all the time.

After I got ahold of it, each day it seems to run better and better as I play with it more and more, and fix the previous few owner's screw ups :D

Whoever has that sig that says that 99% of the time, the MKIII's weak link is the owner, is dead accurate.

I have been flogging my 7m at least every other day for the past several years at a boost setting never less then 18psi. The only thing I have had to change is spark plugs. Of course that was after spending many many thousand dollars building it with forged pistons, mhg, arp everything, and fully balanced, PLUS all new hoses, belts, new wiring harness, injectors, clutch, brakes, suspension, transmission, differential, steering, etc.....................:nono:
