you sure can, maybe we should talk w the national z car association and see how they did it :) it seems to be working for them. I would definitely pay a yearly membership to receive discounts on online items. I mean like major supra vendors like HPF MDC 935 suprastore etc.

what about having a standard buy in price for each company like $5 for each company or whatever and we recommend them as a preffered. Frankly the group might not even be big enough..

Keith you are totally correct. I can totally appreciate a MKIV as it is for a car, me personally i wouldn't own one. I have to say ive met my fair share of MKIV guys here locally in az and there are a select few that are nice and such. I guess why i feel its so stereotypical is because of all the flaming that goes on @ SF. If there was something i could donate to SM to help keep it going i would, shit i even was thinking about making some sort of yearly membership that got us all discounts on major parts places or major service places..

Desertzassociation.com offers a yearly subscription to their membership for $40/yr and they get like $1,000 off in different deals n stuff from things valley wide in AZ. Just imagine if we could do that for the supra community! But nation wide

since, i've already addressed your posts on SF I'm gonna keep this short.

I'm on SM and SF about the same amount of time. I rarely see any joking/flaming/bashing (towards MKIIIs specifically) that wasn't either provoked or made in good fun. it's not like no one ever makes fun of MKIVs in the MKIII section. How many times does the world jelly bean come up? But the difference (that I see) is the average MKIII owner over there will act like the world's out to get to them and can't take a joke and points the finger at the 'elitist' owners. average MKIV owner will take a joke about thier car and throw out another (in good fun) joke to the MKIII owner, while staying pretty calm. Then MKIII owner gets mad and points the elitist finger anyway. Where's the equality?

that said Supramania is a better overall community hands down

Speaking on the side of stereo types, the MKIII community has taken great strides to earn the stereotype of our cars being slow and unreliable as well as their owners being cheap and full of unattainable pipe dreams.

We always make posts about what are going to do, while MKIV guys make posts about what they have done. We make a lot of talk but have very little action. Is it any wonder MKIV guy laugh at us when we make clams?

For every post a MKVI guy makes about the next level of 2JZ Zen he has reached a MKIII guy makes a post about how he botched a MHG job because he didn't want to do the prep work.

Because of our low cost of entry we get a lot of people without money, and as such a majority of people skip routine maintenance, and half ass important jobs. The MKIV has such a high cost of entry that it filters many of the cheap bastards out, if you want a MKIV you usually have to commit, you can't try it out for a week, get pissed and move on to another car without hurting your wallet.

MKIV guys have seen many kids pick up a MKIII and then start talking big with nothing to back it up, an embarrassment to the Supra name. Is it any wonder a number of them have gotten annoyed with our community?

I agree, asshole MKIV guys piss me off to no end, but I do see where they are coming from. Some of it may come from the superiority complex they have because they have more money than the typical MKIII owner, some of it may be because they feel they have a superior car.

But we as a community have done very little to deter this, every time we have a chance to show what our cars can do we usually end up sticking our collective foots in our mouth.
This is just the nature of the beast.

So here we are warm and snug on SM, safe in our feeling of superiority because we are the fastest car on here. If you really don’t like the stereo type change it, do it with actions not words. Do something first then talk about it, not the other way around. It can be done. But we have to stop talking about things that will never happen. And instead do the best we can, with what we have, and regardless of what the MKIV guys think, we do have a lot.

It's a good move for SF, it will give them time to get back to there roots. They needed some thing like this for a long time now.

That said, we've had enough problems with our own off topic, we don't need to encourage the ones causing trouble to come over here.

Trust me when I say that we won't tolerate anything like the same crap here. Not that I anticipate a problem, most of the OT whores from there wouldn't like to be associated with mere Mk3s. Hopefully they will all move on to the Skyline forums, or somewhere else where they can't pester us.

Oh, now that is a dirty trick! SM's aprilfools was damn good, but SF's was just plain evil. I love it!

P.S. Guess the password, it's not to hard to figure out.

Time to vent here. Im tired of SF i wish someone would hack their sorry ass server and send it to the dark ages. Im tired of the MKIV guys treating the MK3 guys like inferior underpriced pieces of shit.

And a lot of us are tired of guys like you lumping us all in together because we've got some asshats in the crowd. Also, be careful when talking about SF. 75% of the idiots on that forum don't even own a Supra (MKIII or MKIV).

I happen to love Supras of every generation, from the antique MKI to my MKIV's. I own a MKIII as well.

And by the way, a MKIV guy (me) pays for and sponsors this forum...

LOL - and on top of that, a Mk4 guy started *this* site, too! For that matter, he still pays for the name registration on sm.com every year, out of his own pocket.

An April fool's joke? Err... has it occured to them that it's the 4th?

I've always run by the rule that jokes before noon are on the victim... jokes after lunch make the joker look the fool.

Jokes 3 days after the fact... well, what can I say? At least it should weed out the stupid for a day or so.
