I work at Speedee Oil Change. I change oil, vacuum, fill tires, clean windows, etc... There was this 75 year old guy with an 89 Mazda 323 5 speed. I tried to drive it into the garage but i couldnt tell if i was in first gear or neutral because the shifter bushings were completely wasted. Anyway, he wanted the oil change, vacuum, fill the tires, and clean his windows. The usual. So he walks over to the K mart thats in the same plaza. We finish the car, put it in the parking lot, he comes back with a bag of spray paint and starts to paint his car in the parking lot. We couldnt do anything but laugh at him and wonder what made him want to change the color on his car in our parking lot. I was going to ask him if he needed any help but he seemed to know what he was doing. And if thats not interesting to u than i guess it was a need to be there kind of thing. But its just a starting story for u all.

Cliff notes - Old dude started painting his car in our parking lot with spray paint.

Edit - And i drove a MKIV. All i have to say is viva la MKIII. MKIV's suck at turning and are a bitch to get into.

Thats not as bad as the guy who went into an auto parts store bought some window cleaner started cleaning his windows, went back inside and was told that what he had purchased was spray paint.

Someone posted this up a while ago.

Thats awesome. I used to work at FYE at the mall. It's a music/dvd/video game store for all those that dont have an FYE near them. I used to run after the occasional shop lifter. It was advised against but i thought it was too fun to not run after them. But thats about it in the mall near me. Although, someone did get shot in the face near the movie theater recently so I dont kno how good it is. It's slowly getting to one of those high class malls. They just built a new area where theres a Coach store, burberry, etc...

I even had one where he had a gorrila mask on (we always have one aroudn us just incase) and us runnign away form him. haha. that day was awesome.

After coming in for an emergency visit, a patient had a aneurism, she smiled and told me it was nice to see a good looking guy working the front desk at a dr.s office instead of the regular female. Very nice lady.

Well weird thing is that I had a sixth sense she was going to die. It was a very calm feeling. I knew it was a small aneurism in her cerebral cortex, usually not very easy to get to in surgery if not at all. She was there util 4:45pm (about 2 hours) and I left aroudn 4:55. She told me "by by" and smiled and her family was joking with her about the hospital room and "seeing her later" and such.

She came up to me and said that I was very helpful ( paperwork and such), just an ALL AROUND nice lady!

I was waiting on the elevator, and heard someone loud coming up the particular elevator I was waiting on. It was her daughter crying, she went running back into our office.

I new something happend.

As I went across the street into the parking garage 2nd level I could see an Ambulance in the parking lot behind our building, and her family holding their heads and crying. The ambulance lights were on, but they were sitting there with no sirens. We are right across the street from the O.R. and E.R. at our Hospital.

Come to find out her aneurism burst and sent her into acomatose. She was kept alive on the ventalator for 3 days before her family pulled the plug.

I figured out why her aneurism busted early. It was COLD outside, and when she got to the warm office I was at, her blood vessels rested, or relaxed (blood pressure decreasing).

When she left, she walked back into the cold out in the LARGE parking lot, her body tried to warm up ( she didnt have a thick head of hair). Her blood pressure went up, and subsequently ruptured the aneurism.

It was weird, knowing I talked to someone that was completely lively 4 minutes before their death. I had the pleasure of making her feel welcome and safe.

Going to a Neurosurgeons office is not the best thing in the world. Usually the people we see either have tumors, or serious back conditions. Aneurism are pretty rare actually.

Yeah, from working in the O.R. I have witnessed death. Its just normal to me.

From chopping off legs ( amputations ) to total knee replacements and AAA's ( anterior aortic anuerysms )....the office job at Mid state neursurgery ( http://midstateneurosurgery.com/ ) is definantly slow paced LOL..

Dr lien and Moran are just wonderful guys to work with. Braniacs and comical at the same time.

But I love surgery. Its what I want to do. The medical field to me is the ultimate. Something about just helping people out. Constantly learning and just the technological part of the field.

when I was going to school I worked at trhe local drunk tank ( The hooper center for the chemicaly enhanced) I spent most of my time working in the sobering station, You see a whol;e differant side of humanity there. At the time the way the laws were if you had the odor of alchohol on your breath we could hold you for upto 72 hours (we only held folks till they sobered up) so we had transients as well as the folks driveing mercedes 450s. We have a city worker(engineer) he ended up in a safety room (7' X 10' X8' room with a toilet at one end and a steele door at the other. now this fine consumer of air got put inot the safty toom ans they preced to crap on the floor and then play with it. made me feel soo much better to know this guy worked for the city. I thought it was funny to get folks that were drunk "upper class" folks get put in the same room as a transient. and try to tell me they werent one of those peopel. Hmmm lets see you both got there cause you were drinking yup you are one of those people. and I dont know why Alhohol make women want to remove their clothes but it does.

I work in a Sears garage, I do mostly tires, oil/coolant changes, batteries, brakes, etc.

A guy came in a few weeks ago with a piece of crap Ford Ranger. He want's two front tires (they were completely flat) and an oil change.

A kid I work with did the work and put it outside. Now this kid is a complete idiot and I was sent out to check the car after it was done after realizing this kid had been doing coke in the locker room that morning. Sure enough there was barely any oil in it, probably just what was left from when he drained it and didnt fill it back up.

We push the car back in, fill it with oil and park it outside again.

After the shop closed and I'm bringing the old tires from the day out to the trailor I realized the tires that came off the truck preety bad curb rash, and covered in dirt...

the next morning a cop was leaving my boss's office as I was coming in.

Turns out the Ranger was stolen, and spotted by a cop down the street from our shop. So the thief jumped a curb and plowed through a field before the cop could turn around.

Cliff's: Stolen car came into garage - coke-head coworker screwed up work - We gave thief 2 new getaway tires and he even sprung for the oil change on a car that he just stole.

I'm in the military and on a training mission. we were goin to swim in on this cliff at night, climb it, and continue on with what we had to do. well we were goin to wear wet suits under our cammis. one of my buddies always talked about how the cold didn't affect him and where he grew up was twice as cold as anything we did, so someone said "why do you even wear a wetsuit if its not that bad?". so he didn't. between the time we left the boat till we got up the cliff and started changing into dry clothes was about two hours. when we hit the beach he was shaking so bad he could barely walk. when we started climbing he couldn't hold on to the rope and had to be drug up. then when we started changing he was in the fetal position, almost goin into convoltions. when he got changed he warmed up and was fine. and life went on. sorry you might've had to have been there, I thought it was hilarious.

note: don't talk your cold tolerance up before goin swimming at night, in december, in the pacific, with high winds, WITHOUT a wetsuit

we get drunk and stoned people coming in to buy parts all the time...so we usually sell them the most expensive parts...usually wrong...hand them the receipt knowing that it will be lost as soon as they step outside..then when they come back to return the part...we can't do it cuz they don't have a receipt..

I was a manager for Pizza Hut some time ago when this happened. One of the drivers left his keys and cellphone in his car in the parking lot in front of the restaraunt (we were in a large stripmall). Someone stole his car while he was in the store between deliveries. Police came and took all the information from him. While they were there, they decide to call the drivers cellphone to see if the crook would answer. The cellphone in the pocket of the man standing next to the cop waiting for his order starts ringing, turns out he is the one who stole the car.

Also, when I was a manager for Pizza Hut, I lived in Las Vegas. Used to watch the show Copsand see how much stuff happened in my delivery area, turns out it was alot (had a driver robbed every other month).
