A copper hg- oring block will hold 1000 hp. Its what used on alcohol dragsters and stuff...
Yes it might be overkill for our cars but since we are prone to failure it might be the way to go, the copper material has advantages of excellent heat transfer between the alum head and metal block, disadvantages are you sometimes end up with some minor seeping issues around oil/water passages.
I have had great luck with no leaks on my z car engine with the copper. Im still leaning toward copper on my new build but may just go with the cometic because like the above post mentioned, you dont really need it for 500 hp.I cant imagine a hefty piece of copper ever blowing, the thing that worries me about our engines is the tiny studs and for this reason will limit my new build to 15-20 psi.
