rebuilding the rotary is also a hell of a lot cheaper to do too:)

maybe on oposite day....rotarys are VERY expensive to build.

Thats got to be the most not fun car to drive, sure it makes 400 horsepower but Its like a 1J, only 100-150ftlbs..... :biglaugh:

Turbo on rotary comment, there not as efficient due to the short "stroke" (if you can even call it that) that the engine has. it spins twice as fast and uses twice as much fuel to make the same power. I.E stock 550cc injectors in a car with less then 2 liters of displacement that in our car can make 500 horsepower with a 3 liter.

I applaud people that have the balls to do something different :)

or make something different with no balls?

Yes, it's a narrowbody.

The "OVER 30 THOUSAND SPENT ON DRIVLINE" part I find seriously amusing though...

Believe it or not a 1988 GA70 (narrow body) hardtop with a 1G-FE, and a manual transmission had a curb weight tipping the scales at 3,020lbs. That was the lightest trim available, so yes it had the potential to be much lighter. Hell you take the gasoline out of the fuel tank and you have a sub 3,000 lbs car.

Yeah 135hp at 5600RPM
and 130ft-lbs at 4400RPM
With a power to weight ratio of 1:22 or 0.045

By comparison

The MA70
3600lbs(approx.) and 230hp
Power to weight of 1:15.7 or 0.064

The JZA70
3550lbs(approx.) and 280hp
Power to weight of 1:12.7 or 0.079

So yes, even in the supras lightened form the 1G-FE was an absolute dog.

A 1989 GA70, narrow body hardtop, sporting a 1G-GTE with a manual transmission, and no AC had a curb weight of 3219lbs.

With 210hp at 6200RPM
and 202.5ft-lbs at 3800RPM
This would give it a power to weight ratio of 1:15.3 or 0.065

*edit: Just to throw things into perspective, a 2007 Corvett Z06 has a power(505hp) to weight(3132lbs) ratio of 1:6.2 or 0.161

yea bikes suck because traction can be hard to get and wheelies hard to stop. the new gixxer 1k has about the same power as my hayabusa but is 100 lbs lighter, my friend has one and i take him every time because he has to let off or it'll flip backwards. i<3 useable power.

I come from a land down under
A quad rotor would be nice but the car would be slow towing the fuel tanker to supply it ;)

exactly, the turbo busa's might have 500hp but they cant even go full
throttle.... and are even worse in the turns.
