My rebuilt 7mgte has about 620 miles on it or so now. I took it on a two hour trip recently and when I arrived let it cool down then shut it off. Went to start it back and it wouldn't crank at all. I could hear a relay or something clicking that sounded like it was near the ECU. I went inside and relaxed for a bit, went back out half an hour later and it fired right up. Today (about a week after my trip to Atlanta) it's doing the same thing. It will make a clicking sound when I turn it to the start position, but nothing. It's not the starter clicking, but just a relay or something. When it does actually start up the starter is very strong and turns the engine over easily. Any ideas? Thanks!

I had a starter that was faulty.. Did the same thing.. Seemed like it only did it when it was real hot after a drive, or when it was damp outside.. If the starter is the problem, next time it doesn't wanna crank over, reach down and hit it with something, not really hard, just enough to jar the solenoid.. If it cranks over, it's a bad starter..

Like you said, when it starts, the starter is strong.. so was mine.. but it was bad, just intermittent.. lol

Hope this helps!

Yea sounds good. It is a re-manufactured one, but i'll give this a shot. Haven't driven it in the rain yet, but every time it has done it, it does seem to be hot. So your starter wasn't making any noise at all? No clicking, etc?
