JJ, yes, post #28 was sarcasm, That's why I asked the question "Seriously?"
And I apologise for not being the most forum-quote savvy person here. In my post #30, I did state that I fixed several other wiring issues at the same time I replaced the ground strap, so I might be mistaken on the "no strap-no spark" issue, but it is included inside your quote, so it is not readily apparent. Again, I apologise. I am still learning the forum posting format and features.
I do not know it all, like so many others here. (Sarcasm)
That is why I ask questions. So that I may keep learning.
No intentional ball busting here, just a search for answers and enlightenment for all to share. I don't care WHO is right or WHO is wrong (unlike some others here, apparently).
My only concern is that the ANSWER is RIGHT. That is all the OP, or any of us, should care about.
In this particular instance, I was trying to give the OP as much pertinent information as possible by seeking clarification and identifying sources of information.
If my information is incorrect, I'm sure the OP, and me as well, would appreciate the correction. I am not always right (just ask my wife, LOL), and I appreciate it when I am corrected, as I learn more from my mistakes than I do from my sucesses.
But I tend not to rely on anecdotal information whenever possible. I prefer published information. My anecdotal description of my no-strap, no-spark "experience" illustrates my point. And as such, I asked for your sources of information so that everyone, not just me, could verify their accuracy independently from an individuals "experiences."
If that is not the purpose of this forum, please let me know, and I'll leave right away.
If this is an "I'm right and you're wrong" kind of forum, then I'm wrong for this forum.
