Okay I searched "no boost" and didnt turn up any problem threads related. So heres the thing......Today I was driving and my car was boosting fine, but when I shifted into 2nd gear, it felt like it didnt have anything. I checked my boost gauge and it still read like 3 or 4 on the vac side. I took it for a drive after letting it sit for a minute and it has the same problem. I dont know if its the turbo that is shot or if its something else. It didnt make a death whine and it doesnt leak any oil or smoke or anything, so Im lost. It is a rebuilt ct @ 14 psi. Only ran it like that for like 4 days, so I dont know if that could be an issue. Im just stuck on where to start troubleshooting and any help is always appreciated.

Check your ic piping, if it's stock, old and worn, i'm guessing your pissing your pressure away. If all vacuum lines are connected, turbo isn't blown and your piping is sealed, you should have pressure. Hell even if your turbo blew a seal it should still make positive psi. Good luck....

Ok, thanks for the input guys. I just removed my accordian and found that the turbo is seized. I dont know if thats the correct terminology for it but its stuck like a motherfucker.

Now, what can I do from here? What couldve caused this? I know I was running 14 psi, but it was only like that for a few days, and Ive heard of cts running nearly 20. I wasnt planning on keeping the stock ct forever but I had figured it would hold longer than this. Is the turbo fixable without a rebuild? Just shoot some ideas my way fellas! Thanks

Yeah, engine oil was a bit low, maybe half a quart, but I didnt think that couldve cooked the turbo. No oil in the turbo was my first thought, but I didnt see how, since my engine oil level was good. I have another jdm ct26, thank god. But I would still like to be able to fix this if its possible.

I dont have a turbo timer, but I never boost it hard and then shut the car off. I drive conservatively before turning the car off.

By saying that my shitty oil lines fucked my turbo, what do you mean? How can the oil lines be shitty? Could something be clogging them? Which I doubt, doesnt make any sense. What could be wrong with the oil lines?

Excessive shaft play would cause it to seize, oil starvation would kill it over a decent amount of time since the journal bearings don't take a ridiculous amount of oil to stay lubricated. I would say either find another rebuilt ct, or step up it to a small upgrade, I'm surprised a rebuilt turbo could seize so fast, although any type of complications could do it. I'd say rip it off and asses the damage, see if you can find any clues. Good luck man and sorry to hear about your loss..

Edit** Also I would say don't attribute it to not having a tt either, your turbo is bi-cooled for a reason. Although some may disagree, if your turbo is not highly upgraded a tt is just a preventative measure.

Yeah, I didnt figure that not having a tt would be the cause of this since they are oil and water cooled. I dont know what the problem could be though, I guess I will send my other turbo out for a rebuild/upgrade, but if its seized due to oil starvation, what couldve caused this? Would it have to be a major oil leak or is there something that feeds the oil on the turbo that is messed up?

Im out of ideas, I dont wanna do this shit again after I put another turbo on there.:3d_frown:

Check the exhaust side of the turbo, if theres oil, the seal went and your lubrication went out the exhaust. Oil leak somewhere, it's just something you have to investigate, I say take the turbo off and check it out.. Good luck

^^^^Now that Im guilty of, I read about that like two weeks later, and I had no problems, so I figured I was okay. Its been about 2 months since I put the turbo on. Would it have taken that long before it shit on me?
