So i went the cheap way on smoking the tails:naughty:.... and heads:sarcasm:!!!

Nightshade from VHT 8bucks a can and its a spray on transparent tint for taillights....

They look alot better in the direct sunlight... I will post better picks tomorrow

dont' look to bad, my buddy use to do that with his old corolla back in the days, it's cheap just bad becuase it's not smooth! but hey don't look half bad! get them cleared

you could get some high grit sandpaper and sand on them to smooth it out if you want. looks pretty good by the way. who sells the can of spray? can you post a pic of it?

Im having a hard time understanding why anyone would want to put something over their headlights. Its not like you can see em when they are in the off position. But aaaaaaanyway....I agree with just getting the tails clear'd, that will really improve the look.

Yep... I plan on wet sanding em with 2000 then clear then wet sand the clear as well!!!

Mine with nightshades I did awhile ago, A little different but the stuff works good:

Never got around to the center section but I will forsure(when I get back to that car). Also wish I had sanded all the letters and numbers off and smoothed them up then cleared them as well! My new car I will have a similar design but not sure yet!

wet sand it with 1500 grit sand paper and clear it also, so it doesn't look so grainy and dull...

yea sand and clear will do wonders. but why darken the headlights... theyre only up at night....

Yeah I have nightshade and some clear coat laying around for this. Also, you should sand first, which I will make sure of doing.

I asked the same question and got no responce. Im guessing its so those cheap Ebay housings arent as blinding to other drivers...?

HaHaHa... No i use to have some smoked heads on my MR2 and i thought it looked mean when the sleepies were up.... No reason:sarcasm:

My brother did that on his Volvo, but they were clear.

Ours are red, it won't look quite as good. Besides, the center section already has a silver paint on the back.

I am assuming that you had a body shop do them, do you recall the product that the shop used?

Very interested in this mod as the film didn't work to well for me. Your lights look good, how well do they illuminate when on during the daylight hours?

I did this same thing with my first black supra, the nightshade lasted a long time and always looked pretty good, unless you got really close.
