Why are all the supras in AZ...?
Ever been there? Other than the heat in the peak of summer (only ~120°... in the shade), the place is pretty much ideal for sports cars. Nice smooth roads, a few tracks to play with, a great car scene, minimal legal regulations that prevent you from having an awesome car. Oh, and the women, definitely the women... not to mention the FOOD. The food was why I could never afford to go anywhere fancy, food was too good.
As for getting the car running, I would suggest replacing the following:
-ALL gaskets. Can re-use the head gasket on 1j's, they are metal from the factory. Not sure if you can re-use the turbo manifold gaskets or turbo to downpipe gaskets.
-ALL rubber parts, these are likely fried by now on a 20 year old engine.
-Anything else you don't want to have to fix with the engine in the car. Remember, it's always easier to work on an engine that is mounted on a stand.
