thats a pretty dog...but i was not referring to the Red Nose Pit as a breed....the red nose is just referring to the NOSE being a red coloration...which i think they look the coolest when the have the red nose and tanish fur color...yours is also a nice color for the dog to have

BTW jeff, you still havent said if it was a mini or fullsize.

(had a mini for 16 years, fucking great dog)

It'll be a 13 inch if her parents are any indication (which they are ;)).

Both of her parents were 13 inch class, smaller dogs, and yes, they were both cute too, even though they were old ;).

On the other hand, my old neighbour had the runt of the same litter as our old Beagle, and it was very small... pretty cool dog.

No, it's not. I urge you to do more research on the stigma of this breed and how law works (or doesn't, in mose cases) when it comes to dog bites/maulings.

In many places, if someone breaks into your house, and your dog tears him up, the dog is put down, and you're held liable.

In some places, even having a "BEWARE OF DOG" sign is considered admitting guilt to an agressive dog.

by no means am i defending skams comments....however here in FL we have a law that states if our private property is entered without our permission and/or we are endangered (on our property or not) we have the RIGHT to use deadly force... guns etc... i would think having your dog rip up an intruder would fall under that.

I strongly support those "castle" laws. If someone broke into our place, it would be nice if the law protected us more than the criminal.

The point is, a human aggressive dog is a dangerous thing to keep around. Except for the rare few, that animal is not under human control.

The "make 'em mean" approach is the reason why responsible pet owners & handlers have to deal with bullshit breed specific legislation.

I'm fairly certain our akita Logan would shred someone who threatened one of us, but we've never trained him to be aggressive, and it's my opinion people who train dogs to be aggressive are idiots.

Please ban his ass (skam9685)

For what? Disagreeing with his opinion? If I banned everyone whose opinion I disagreed with, there'd be only 5 people on this site.

putting a big chain around its neck is not harming the dog in any way shape or form....thanks ;)

It's not good for their neck. This is a practice I think is ridiculous.

as for laws go....thats a total bullshit law....if someone breaks into my house he deserves to have his/her ass handed to them from a dog thats protecting his home

I agree, but that's not how it works - especially with your breed of choice. Do some research.

Only breed I'm afraid of is the Jack/Parsons Russel terrorist.

What's wrong with jack russel's? I got three of em and love all three the same. I'd think statistic shows that rot's, dobermen's, and pitbulls are more then likely to turn against their owners...I guess Darwin would win again.

only dog breed I don't trust outright is a chow chow.

all others are from 2 major influences:
a) idiot owner using chains, german training collars (pinch collars), remote trainers, or harsh discipline
b) inbreeding causing mental disorders

I see it everyday at my workplace, so my views are pretty strong on this one...

cute puppy! i think i would go with a beagle if i got a small dog, or a yellow lab if i wanted a medium/large dog. my family has always had golden retrievers, and i love them, but too much fur for me.

Statistics show people are stupid and usually don't know the difference between a pit bull and a labrador. STATISTICALLY, a Lab is more likely to bite someone.

I'm a dog groomer, and have worked with dogs for years at vets, dog kennels, etc.

Number of Dobermans, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Akitas, Pit Bulls that have bitten/attacked me: 0
Number of Labradors that have bitten/attacked me: 2
Number of Golden Retrievers that have bitten/attacked me: 1
Number of Shih Tzus that have bitten/attacked me: +/- 6
Number of Jack Russel Terriers that have bitten/attacked me: Lost count at about 13.
Number of Korean Jindos that have bitten/attacked me: 3 (which is every single one I've come across)

I don't trust Chows much, either. They were originally bred for human consumption, and they haven't gotten over it yet.
