Ok I'm getting rid of my MK4 wheels and have bought my FNOR1-C wheels and need new tires in the back. I drive this car everyday about 30 Miles. I do live in TX where we don't get much rain. I have the Kumho SPT tires right now and I was hoping to transfer them to my new wheels but discount said that they won't because them tires are down to the tread wear indicator. I do have their warranty on the tires and one of them does have a screw in it right where the tread meets the side wall and they still won't fix it because they said that it is basically in the side wall and it can't be fixed. I have no clue.

The SPT tires were good, but they only lasted 10k miles and I have only been to the track once with them. I was looking at the new BFG Gforce sport, another set of SPT's, or the Nitto DR's or the MT DR's. I can get the MT DR's in 275/40 or 295/45 and they will fit on my wheels 17x10. Anyone give suggestions please!!

I was considering the DR's because my BFG's before only lasted 10k miles, my SPT's only lasted 10k miles and the Nitto's I had before lasted 8 Kmiles.

Thanks in Advance.

I guess it really comes down to what you want to do with the car. If you are just going to street drive it with occasional tracking I really like the Falken 452's. However, I have a couple friends that street drive MT ET Street Radials and they love them. The only downside is that they go through 1 or 2 sets a year.

I've been using the Dunlop Direzza DZ101 and the SP Sport 01 DSST RunOnFlat tires and I LOVE them! I do a lot of city/highway and go out to the canyons once in awhile. All the low ratings and bad remarks for these tires are all BS! I have lots of grip and can get sideways when i want to in the canyons. But then again, I'm running 275's all around. My buddy tested the new Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 StarSpec tires and said they are super grippy!

I run the SPT's as well, and they don't last that long

get the ASX's, as they will last longer, are a good all-season tire (about as good as the SPT's) and still stick pretty well.

Sean,

I had the ASX tires and I hated them, I would slide all over when making fast turns or going above 100 on the highway. The SPT is good however it only lasted 10k miles so I'm going to look into something else. The BFG or some Yoko's

I'm going to get the BFG Gforce Sports or the Nitto DR's, I don't drive that much in rain, and they are instock at Discount. I'm leaning towards the Dr's

Joe the SPT's in the rear I thought were plenty loud, as soon as I put them on I could hear them. I had the ASX's in the front and when taking fast turns or fast highway driving my car would sway. I did get the SPT for the front though and I haven't swayed yet.

Odd... I know a lot of vette guys that run em. I have noticed that Kumho's kick ass when new, but once they start wearing down to the harder core rubber they grip for shit. Also, once they get old they seem to get harder too...

They go have the MX's as well, but don't drive in the rain with em.

The BFG B-force's are VERY good, but where out of my pricerange...
