So I brought my car to my brother in laws shop this weekend, we jacked it up on the lift so we could look underneath and everything, make sure everything is okay. We were pleased to see that the car is pretty much rust free underneath! but we noticed something.. I think it's the intercooler line from the radiator, the aluminum portion of it is getting rubbed by a bolt on the steering rack (i think?). we also noticed that the arm for the steering rack or whatever is set at an angle. the car is an 86.5, but the engine is from an 89 turbo. we took all the hosing off from the turbo so we could get at the intercooler hose, took it off, cut the rubber a little shorter to try and get it to sit higher, it worked for the most part, but the bolt is still catching when the wheels turn and it really concerns us because it's cutting away at the aluminum. i have pictures i'll post at the bottom of this post. just wondering if anyone here could give some pointers of how we can fix this!
