Let me specify a little more ( I am talking about HEAD BOLTS ) Studs are completely different. Bolts should never go over 85 ft-lbs. READ FORUMS, and ask DR.JONEZ thanx,.

Don't question me, your all ignorant if you think anythign over 85 is better nice job.

Again try actually READING what I wrote.....

Maybe YOU should go ask Adam if I have a clue or not....

Maybe you should have clarified from the beginning?

Then this past page wouldn't have been here ;).

And you're still wrong, why do you insist on overtorquing (if using moly) or undertorquing (if using motor oil) the Head bolts? You still are leaving out critical info in something as important as that. Link us to some proof please. :)

Wow. Have a try at searching, like, checking out what jdub actually drives as a car. GE motor huh? Better add a "T" in there and a few hundred extra wheel horsepower on top of the crank HP a GE puts down ;).

I still see no proof of your vast 7M know how.

Thanks Chris...the guy obviously doesn't have a clue.

Not man enough to come out and call me a liar either.

In fact, he might as well ask Adam about me too while he's at it ;)

My work/knowledge speaks for itself...I'll stack it against some forum troll any day. I have no time/patience to deal with someone who doesn't want to see the truth.

Iv Owned two MKIII Supra turbo's and 1 MKIII non turbo. 1991 turbo 1990 turbo surpas, both that the motors have been rebuilt. But, I know nothing right, my last supra made 451 HP On stock internals with a 60-1 trim turbo from Bullseye turbo with 550cc injector new 255 fuel pump and a FCD and HKS AFR , that is all Right now.

And you seem to think you know more than ARP does about the head bolts they make.
For the record, max on an aluminum head is 75 ft/lbs for bolts using moly...NOT 85 ft/lbs...that is called an over torque.

And you like to talk BS about someone you have no clue about as to ability or experience. IJ made the same comments I did...ARP specs are very specific...I guess he has NFI about what he's talking about either.

Sorry about that, I was referring about you, i have people on this thread saying that head bolts on a 7m motor can be torqued to over 85 ft-lbs just trying to lead this guy into a better direction.

what you tq your bolts or studs to totally depends on what sort of lube (or lack thereof!) that you use....

EDIT: BTW- i have no idea who you are. i see you're in MI, so perhaps i have met you....but i don't appreciate people using my name to back themselves up...especially when they're spreading false info.

And once again, this is very appropriate for this thread :kaboom:

:eek:wned:

Hey, you never know, this thread could become famous? Like oh, I don't know, maybe the Hall of Shame? :biglaugh:

This is where Allstreet failed horribly.... NO ONE is saying to overtorque anything just that ARP's instructions call for a higher Tq setting if you use Oil instead of Moly as a lube.

Comprehension is a good skill to have.

We'll see how he behaves when he returns but name calling isn't the way to settle an argument here.

Doc: LOL I was wondering if he was a local :nutswinger or not ;)

Wow Mr. Engine builder your glory overwhelms me, let me know when you learn something, and I highly doubt you know as much as you do, google is a great website, I can see you used it, and how many Supra's have you owned?> like 1/2 you owned 1986.5 i bet, a ge motor, your just not understanding anything and year behind an engine don't mean shit, I only work on 7m motors, sorry i may just know slightly:sarcasm: more then you, but I would rather listen to you b/c you have 34 years. good luck man.

:nono:

So you go hungry all time? If you had said 1MZFE, it might have been more credible.

Well I m back now, but I have a problem with my motor, if you read my forum in 7m-bulletins, that would be greatly appreciated. This problem has never been presented in front of me, the torqued i did use was 75 Ft-lbs on a 1.4 Titan Motor Sports Metal head gasket I was going to run with that for about two weeks, using the motor lightly of course, but My Cylinder pressure in #1 Cylinder is 45 and Cylinder #6 is 75 I have exhaust when the engine has load put on it in the back of the motor, and I head " Hissing " [ Vacuum ] near the intake but it is not the intake, already checked, so right now this si not to good.Only thing I can do before tearing it down is check the torque didn't work it's way out, if it did I will re toque it, that is all I can do right now thanks.
