I am about to mount up this pump, and I have been trying to figure out where to mount it... I have a sump being welded in right now, and I was thinking about mounting the pump upside down on the bottom of the hatch floor under the car, there is just enough space between the gas tank and the rear bumper support... Is this a good place to put it?

I was thinking about mounting it where my old Bosche was, on the rear cross member (???) but that is in front of the tank, and I would have to have alot longer fuel line from the sump to the pump, which costs more and is less efficient...

Where else can I mount it if the location Im considering isnt a good decision? If you have pics of your mount, please post up... and it doesnt have to be a the Aeromotive, any external pump mounting pics would be great...

Thanks,
Jake

First cautionary note excerpt from the pump installation instruction:
"Note: Failure to mount the pump lower than and close to the fuel tank may cause the pump to run
dry, resulting in extreme pump wear! Make sure the pump is located lower than and as close as
possible to the fuel tank, so that the pump is always supplied with fuel"

Lower is more important than close. Just prime the thing the 1st time you run it.

And make sure you build some sort of isolation mount or the noise from that freakin' thing will drive you batshit.

I love the noise... I always liked how the Bosche would start whizzing away when I turned the key... To me, its part of the ambiance of having a race car...

Anyway, I'd like to see some other options other than the crossmember...

Jake, the only thing I have to add to this - make sure its not inside the car. If it is, make sure you have some sort of fire wall back there.

On the cars with fuel cells, and fuel cell brackets (they look like a cage), they mount the fuel pump on the lower left or right side of the fuel cell cage.
