Guage cluster problems...

I need a picture of a 89+ guage cluster from an N/A fromt he rear. My guage cluster I just picked up is a 90 that was originally NA. converted to turbo and now i put my 87 voltmeter into it. I haad to remove some stuff and IM hoping I put it back together right but im getting no connectivity.

I ran an ohm check between the two screws in the voltmeter and iwas getting resistance.... Anybody have a TSRM link maybe?

Thanks guys

I just went through this on my own gauge cluster :)

Oh wait... yours is an N/A Gauge? Dunno then... Verify you have 12v between the two screws going into your Voltmeter.

Well it was ORIGINALLY an NA cluster. But it was converted to turbo. I removed the turbo box ont he back at Chrises house...

Should i jsut go strip some wire and wrap em around the screws and give it a shot?

Let's reboot.... what gauges are not working. Please list them. You have a handheld multimeter it sounds like. Get the following information with the gauge connected to the car:

1) read voltage across the two terminals of the voltmeter (ign on)
2) do the brake/battery lights come on with the ignition on & engine off

We will proceed from here.

None are working... My temp guage was around mid guage when I put everthing back together but once i turned the ignition on it went to the bottom..

I am going from memory. The brake and batter light do not light up. Let me connect everything and get the readings and the correct answer for #2

Double check you put ALL the hookups in... there's like 3 large ones, and then a little like 4 wire one, with a brown plug. It hooks up in that spot you can see on your pic there.

I believe it's also got a 12volt line in it, for the cluster.

They are all on. Ive done this before and made that mistake once.

I do have an odd hookup in the back but Weezel and I figured it was for the super computer being my car is an 87 and DOES have the wiring.

Hah. Well that works. But other than that I dont know whats wrong! They all worked before. So I know the harness is fine. It must be because of my voltmeter swappage.

I bet I did somthing to a grounding point on the little green paper wiring on the back.(for a lack of a better term)

If I can get it to work - a voltguage I wouldbe happy as well.

First, if the cluster is not vertical the gauges will read all over the place, so that is probably why your temp was in the middle originally.

You say all gauges are dead. Temp, Oil, Fuel, Volt, and Tach I assume Also the brake light is dead, but the bat light is on.

That all points to a lack of 12V at pin 8 connector C (yellow wire from Gauge fuse).

You need to confirm that you have 12V from the Gauge fuse (solid yellow wire).
