Mystery plugs under dash

So, I changed my heater core over the w/e - entire dash out and cross-bar - and now the courtesy lites under the dash don't work. (88 M 3 Targa).
Investigating I found attached to the driver's side LED wires a 2-prong yellow plug AND an in-line white plug coming off the firewall main harness w/ about 8" of harness. It was anchored on the back side of the crossbar. It will not reach to the fuse box...
I cannot find where either of these plugs go!
Search didn't turn up anything either

I used the detailed instructions for changing the heater-core written up by one of the members, & reviewing I can't find mention of either of these plugs. It and TRSM both say to unplug plugs....

HELP !?

so you didnt unplug them? do you have a supermonitor? or do you not have a feature some supras do? car makers will sometimes put all the same harnessess in all cars just to simplify things. if they were unplugged already id guess that they should stay unplugged

LOL.

I don't have a supermonitor, so that may be what large white one is for...
I do not recall unplugging them (whatever _that_ indicates). I just found them when troubleshooting the courtesy lites.
I'll get some pix this evening.

These are pix of the aforementioned wires/plugs. The wiring harness for the lg white plug was anchored on the back side of the crossbar.

is it near the driver kick panel? i would imagine its for the super monitor. My car has a super monitor but i can't do shhht with it, i don't understand how it works so i only use it for fuel economy... Is a Super monitor from a GE any different that one from a GTE?

Yes the GTE and GE super monitors are different, So if you are using a GE super monitor with a GTE the gas mileage will be way off due to the bigger injectors.

And yes the plug you are holding in pic 2/3 is for the Super monitor, The large white/clear one..

How do you work that thing man. I been pressing buttons & all ive achieved is resetting gas mileage & what not. Im guessing gas mileage is correct though.. im getting 15 MPG & my gas doesn't last as long, saturday i put in $40 to Full & i only use it for work & its down a quarter since yesterday.

lol Last time I filled up with was 54.00 :( You can use it to check engine codes instead of jumping the diag box under the hood.. Do a search there is a thread on it somewhere.. Think its called how to check your engine codes with the super monitor.. Have to press two buttons together if I don't recall.. Don't hold me against it though.. Just search should be there

Excellent! Thanx a bunch Devin!
Anyone know what the smaller yellow plug is for? Wondering if it is the reason my courtesy lights no longer work?

I'm referring to the underdash LED courtesy lite that s'posed to come on when u open the door...it's at the end of the harness in the pix.
That yellow plug seems to have no home & I'm wondering if that's why my footwell lites aren't working. They worked fine before I tore out the dash.....
I'll check the emergency flasher switch, tho'. Thanks for the suggestion!

hey! i said supermonitor first! lol. to be honest all they are good for is CEL codes. yeah its got a calendar, which doesnt go past 1999 IIRC lol. and MPG's, elapse, oil change blah blah blah. i use it for the clock and CEL...thats it lol.
and no that yellow plug is not for the light. the light is wired into the harness. i remember seeing it under my dash as well...not plugged in. im thinking another one of those "hey its there if you need it" plugs from the factory.

LOL.........OK, thanx on the yellow plug. It just bugged me 'cause I couldn't account for it & I wanted to make sure I didn't just forget a plug & created my courtesy lite problem.
I do know I did _something_ ...now to figure out what it was...
(It's always something....)

Is it like a plug with 4 wires coming from it? i have one dangling in there since its the alternate option to connect the TIME clock without a super monitor. If your car has a supermonitor that plug will become useless & if you don't, you connect it behind the time display.

It's the yellow plug in the pic/thumbs above.
I don't have the supermonitor, so it must be for the clock then. I was hoping someone on here would recognize that harness. Thanks again, guys..
I can overhaul the engine and trans, but can't plug in electrical plugs! SHEESH!!
