Maybe there is a pinhole leak on the other side of the coolant hardpipe that you can't see...and it's spraying coolant onto the engine while at operating temp? :dunno:

First thing that came to mind when I saw the pics. Did you do a coolant pressure test?

Well I checked the coolant with a digi MM, and it was 100% inconclusive.

I have not done a coolant pressure test as I don't have the equipment readily available. Though I would like to, so I may pay to use the tools in the spring.

I need to drive the car tomorrow and Sunday, but on Monday I will take of the exhaust mani and then I should be able to see what's what.

Thanks for the tips guys, and I'll update again for sure once I get the exhaust off. I realize those pics don't tell the whole story, but they sure do look gruesome with the red coolant. :evil2:

Pressurizing the system would be my first step...
Good luck finding the leak!
Taking off the manifold like you said will definitely help.

here is what pirate electricity can do to aluminum.

Well the exhaust is off, but I still can't find the source of the leak. It seems to be the hard line running along the block, but I can't exactly see the opposite side of it. Could also be the head gasket as it is almost seeping out along the gasket. I'm not sure if that's just where the coolant crawled after coming out of the hard line or if its truly the gasket. If it was the gasket, could it ever make it over to the hard line?

I doubt these are more helpful than the other pics, but you folks might see something I'm not.

still looks like a pinhole leak in the top of the pipe and it's squirting at that one really red spot...

I think I can actually rule that out now. I'll go out and take some pics, but that hard pipe really looks and feels solid. I cleaned it off and can feel a bit of the backside and it seems just fine.

The line where the HG rests is looking more and more like the source. Could be that the gasket has blown at that specific spot and sprayed onto the hard line. :dunno:

The HG has blown 3 times on the car and the head has never been machined, so I'm betting the HG is due to blow very soon anyway.

CRE can give his opinion too, as he just saw it.
