Dude, my bad. But I totally wasn't hating on you.

I like my na. I like the mods I have done to it. It's plenty fast and is spec'd right in the tranny for low end torque. I get torque in ever phase of every gear and when the car is running tip top it's fun as hell to drive. But slow is a bit much. I preferr to think of it as under the radar for the rollers, but it really isn't and won't be when I am finished with it either.

So I apologize for coming off that way. I didn't mean it the way it came out.

The only JDM I would buy is a 1J or 2J. Do the swap and don't look back.

Brandon, I sure hated being the bearer of such bad news, but like I said, the knock is not that bad...yet. You can still get a lot of babied miles out of it. Keep the car, it's a targa for one, the interior is still descent, and you've already spent so much time replacing fenders, sanding etc... You're ready to paint! BTW, nothing wrong with buying a JDM GTE, just rebuild it first.

Ken, No the rod knock is like 10times worst then when I showed it to you the first time. I was going down 35E and it just broke into a knock all the time. I
had to drive it home i was going like 20MPH the whole way home and if i stoped at a red light it would die on me. then when i get to the end of my street the car just overheats and water spurted everywhere :3d_frown:

Same thing happened to my last motor bro. I think your headgasket gave out and your engines sucking in water where it shouldnt now. I bet if you run it a bit more you could throw a rod like i did... sorry for your misfortune man, I really feel your pain:nono:

I doubt its a BHG after looking around i knew i was leaking power steering fluid but at one point i started leaking oil too and i didnt think much of it cuz i thought it was power steering fluid that was left on the ground but it looks like my gasket on my oil pan was bad and i was running the car with low oil levels

Sorry if it came across as harsh but it's reality the Mk3 is about the LAST car I'd recommend for a student unless your folks are wealthy!

Just ring Toyota and do some comparison shopping for common service parts say compared to a Chev or a Ford.
