Well after all the drama and BS I put up with for doing the right thing at my last job I landed a new and much better one IMHO. I got on with a Sheriffs department close to me, about 20 min drive. I am now a full time dispatcher, catch is I stay BUSY!! After training I'll be alone but they pay for a lot of good courses and I think this expierience will help me a lot when it comes to going through the academy and maybe it'll prepare me for that as well.
My job includes dispatching 4 different county fire crews, first responders, sheriffs, troopers, and EMS. Answer all incoming calls to the sheriffs department as well as answer the 911 calls, and yeah you are the only 911 operator for that county. Plus anyone who comes in the station you deal with, and you control all the stuff for the jailers so you stay busy. But I think it'll be good for me, decent benefits, decent starting pay for this area especially with 6 month raises plus rasies when the county gets them too.
Anyways thought I'd share, yea I know a lot of you don't like cops but I'm going to be one, but hey we aren't all bad. LOL.
